(CORVALLIS, Ore) - Pitcher Beverly Miller and infielder Mikela Manewa will join the Oregon State softball team for the 2015 season, head coach Laura Berg announced on Monday.

A native of Portland, Ore., Miller has spent the last two seasons at Monterrey Peninsula College in California. She earned First Team All-Conference and Northern California Pitcher of the Year honors for the 2014 season, after posting a 2.09 ERA with 151 strikeouts.

As a freshman, she was named Second Team All-Conference, as she recorded a 1.39 ERA with 118 strikeouts. Miller was a four-year letter winner at Sunset High School, earning Scholar Athlete honors each season. Her high school achievements include three First Team All-Conference honors, as well as Player of the Week recognition during her senior season.

Manewa has made her mark at College of Southern Nevada in the last two seasons. She earned First Team All-Region and Second Team All-America honors, after hitting .471 with 20 home runs in 2014. She ended the campaign with 68 runs, 78 RBIs, 32 steals and an .880 slugging percentage.

Manewa was also an All-Region First Team selection in 2013, and earned NJCAA Player of the Week honors during the month of April. She has been part of the Coyote Academic Achievement 3.0 Club in both of her years at Southern Nevada. As a senior in high school, Manewa made the Hawaii High School Athletic Association All-Tournament First Team as a senior, and also earned the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Impact Player Award for her performance.

Miller and Manewa join an Oregon State squad that will feature a 2014 recruiting class that was ranked third in the nation by StudentSports.com, and includes four of the site’s top 40 recruits. Alysha Everett is Student Sports’ 23rd-ranked recruit, following an impressive display at PGF Nationals over the summer, as she hit .409 in bracket play. 27th-ranked Gina Bond is considered to be one of the top home-run hitters in the country, and has earned 6A Three Rivers first team honors three times.

McKenna Arriola is StudentSports.com’s 33rd-rated recruit. She hit .541, with 33 runs, 23 RBIs and 12 steals at Camino Real High School in 2013, en-route to All-City honors. 40th-ranked Lovie Lopez batted .449 with five home runs as a junior for St. Paul High School last season.
