Oregon State Duo Await NBA Draft

Roberto Nelson and Eric Moreland had the opportunity to work out at the same time with the Golden State Warriors.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Roberto Nelson and Eric Moreland set several records during their Oregon State basketball careers and have recently traveled the country working out for NBA teams.

Now all they can do is sit back and hope their names will be called in Thursday’s NBA Draft, which will be televised live on ESPN beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Massari Named Oregon State Deputy Athletics Director

Mark Massari and his wife Kimberly have a daughter Madeline and son Joseph, both born in Corvallis.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State University Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis announced on Wednesday that Mark Massari has been named Deputy Athletics Director.

Massari returns to OSU for his second tenure after serving the past six years as Director of Athletics at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).

Beavers Conforto: Consensus First-Team All-American

Also honored on Wednesday is junior outfielder Dylan Davis, who was named a second-team all-region selection.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Michael Conforto has been named a First-Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association, becoming the first player in Oregon State history to be a consensus First-Team All-American.

Jace Fry was also named first-team on Wednesday, giving him five All-American honors – three first team – while Ben Wetzler was honored as a second teamer, with two of his five All-American honors coming as first team.

Oregon State Baseball Players Honored Yet Again

Conforto was named a first-teamer while Fry and Wetzler were each selected to the second team.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State juniors Michael Conforto and Jace Fry and senior Ben Wetzler have been honored by Perfect Game as 2014 All-Americans, it was announced on Tuesday.

Conforto and Wetzler are recent runners-up for the Dick Howser Trophy – given annually to the nation’s top player – while Conforto is a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award.

Beavers Volleyball: 12 Games on Pac-12 Network

After hosting Michigan, the Beavers turn around and host Michigan State Sept. 13.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - The Oregon State volleyball team announced its 2014 schedule on Monday, and 12 matches have been scheduled for broadcast by the Pac-12 Networks.

Oregon State will appear on TV at Gill Coliseum six times, starting with the 2014 home opener, Sept. 12 against Michigan.

Oregon State to Graduate Record Number of Online Students

More than 15,000 students took at least one OSU class online in 2013-14.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - A record number of distance students will receive degrees from Oregon State University on Saturday after completing their course work online.

Oregon State will graduate 501 students through its Ecampus on Saturday.

Oregon State Releases Preview of Pac-12 Basketball Schedule

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - It won’t take long for new Oregon State men’s basketball head coach Wayne Tinkle to get a taste of the Civil War, as the Beavers will open their 2014-15 Pac-12 slate against the Ducks in Eugene the first weekend in January.

Wetzler, Fry and Conforto were all named to two All-America teams on Wednesday, giving them all three such honors this season after Collegiate Baseball recognized them two weeks ago. Wetzler and Conforto earned first-team honors from Baseball America and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday while Fry is first-teamer by the NCBWA and second-team selection by Baseball America.

The Beavers Ben Wetzler finished the 2014 season with a 12-1 record and national-best 0.78 earned run average.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State left-handed pitcher Ben Wetzler and outfielder Michael Conforto are two of the five finalists for the Dick Howser Trophy, which is given annually to the nation’s top collegiate player.

The honor is voted upon and awarded by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Other finalists include Kentucky’s A.J. Reed, LSU pitcher Aaron Nola and Kennesaw State catcher Max Pentecost.

NY Mets Take Oregon State`s Conforto With 10th Pick

Michael Conforto is Oregon State’s first-ever three-time All-American.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State outfielder Michael Conforto has been selected in the first round, 10th overall, by the New York Mets on Thursday in the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft.

Conforto is the seventh Oregon State player to be taken in the first round, and the first since Mitch Canham and Eddie Kunz in 2007.
