Oregon State Women Shine at FIBA U20 European Championship

Oregon State, which finished the season ranked 25th in the nation, is coming off a record-setting season in 2013-14.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State Gabriella Hanson The FIBA U20 European Championship for Women wrapped up on Sunday and featured some noteworthy performances from Oregon State incoming freshman Marie Gülich and sophomore Gabriella Hanson.

Hanson and Sweden went 3-6 at the Division A tournament in Udine, Italy, placing 15th. Gülich dominated inside at the Euro ‘B’ Championships and led Germany in points and blocks.

Oregon State CB Nelson on Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List

Steven Nelson, who transferred to Oregon State in 2013, earned a starting spot five games into last season.

(CORVALLIS, Ore ) - Oregon State Football Oregon State cornerback Steven Nelson has been named to the 2014 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, released Thursday by the Football Writers Association of America.

Nelson is among 17 players from the Pac-12 Conference and 81 overall nominated for the best defensive player in America.

Beavers Isaac Seumalo Named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List

Seumalo, a Corvallis native and son of OSU defensive line coach Joe Seumalo, has started all 25 games in which he’s played in his two-year career.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State center Isaac Seumalo Oregon State center Isaac Seumalo has been named to the Rimington Trophy Fall Watch List, the Rimington Trophy Committee announced Tuesday.

Seumalo is among 66 nominees honoring the most outstanding center in college football. The athletes on the list have excelled at the center position and demonstrated team leadership, and are predicted to do so again in the upcoming season.

Oregon State Freshman Qualifies for U.S. Amateur Championship

Andrej Bevins, a rising sophomore at the University of New Mexico, won the qualifier with a 9-under 65-68--133.

(CHICO, Calif. ) - Oregon State Golfer Tyler Collier Incoming Oregon State men’s golfer Tyler Collier qualified for the 2014 U.S. Amateur Championship by advancing through a sectional qualifying tournament at the Butte Creek Country Club in Chico, Calif., on Tuesday.

Collier shot a pair of 2-under 69’s at the qualifier to tie him for second place with two golfers through the 36 holes of stroke play.

Former Oregon State Trio to Play in NBA Summer League

NBA TV will televise all 67 games, including a total of 38 games live during the event, including the Championship Game on July 21.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State NBA Former Oregon State men’s basketball standouts Jared Cunningham, Eric Moreland and Roberto Nelson will compete at the 2014 Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nev., from Friday, July 11 to Monday, July 21 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion.

Cunningham and Moreland will both play for Sacramento, while Nelson will suit up for Charlotte.

The Beavers season begins Aug. 30 at Reser Stadium against Portland State.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State Quarterback Sean Mannion Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion has been named to the 78th annual Maxwell Award Watch List, the Maxwell Football Club announced Monday.

Mannion, a senior from Pleasanton, Calif., is in the process of re-writing the Oregon State and Pac-12 Conference record books.

Beavers Ali Gibson to Play for Puerto Rican National Team

Gibson has started all 99 games in her three years for the Beavers, averaging 9.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State Beavers Ali Gibson Oregon State senior Ali Gibson left Corvallis on Wednesday and is heading to Puerto Rico to begin training with the Puerto Rican National Team, which is scheduled to play exhibitions in the United States from July 10-20 before heading to Mexico for the Centrobasket Championship for Women at the end of the month.

This will be Gibson’s second go-around with Puerto Rico, as she participated in last August’s “Super Four” Tournament in São Paulo, Brazil, playing the likes of the host Brazilians, Argentina and Canada.

Conference medal winners have been named every year since the 1960-61 academic year.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State Beavers Former Oregon State soccer standouts Josh Smith and Jenna Richardson were honored as 2013-14 Pac-12 Tom Hansen Conference Medal Winners.

A Pac-12 Conference Medal is awarded annually to each member institution’s outstanding senior male and female student-athlete based on the exhibition of the greatest combination of performance and achievement in scholarship, athletics and leadership.

Beavers Andrew Moore Makes Final U.S. Roster

Moore is also the eighth Oregon State player to don the red, white and blue for the Collegiate National Team.

(CARY, N.C..) - Oregon State Pitcher Andrew Moore Andrew Moore is one of 24 players who will comprise the final 2014 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team roster, it was announced on Monday.

The squad will be comprised of 12 pitchers and 12 position players, and Moore, who pitched in five innings during the team’s training camps, is one of three players from the Pac-12 Conference on the club.

Dani Gilmore’s batting average is the fourth best in school single-season history and her slugging percentage is second.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Dani Gilmore Oregon State Beavers Oregon State rising senior centerfielder Dani Gilmore will suit up for the Philippine National Softball Team this summer beginning with the General Tire World Cup of Softball IX in Irvine, Calif. July 7-13.

That tournament will serve as the start of a three-month training period for the Blu Girls in the United States as they prepare for the 17th Asia Games in Incheon, South Korea from Sept. 19 - Oct. 4.
