Gold Beach has a whole lineup of events to celebrate the nation's independence.

(GOLD BEACH, OR) - Independence Day is a cherished and respected holiday in Gold Beach by all its citizens and this year Gold Beach businesses and organizations have come together to offer a truly spectacular Celebration honoring Independence Day in a 5 day affair beginning on Wednesday, July 4th.

Floating Dock (from Japan?) Washes Up On Oregon Beach

This grim reminder certainly has the capacity to make a person feel small.

(NEWPORT, OR CNN/KATU) - Floating dock that washed up in Newport, Oregon A mysterious dock has washed up along a beach in Oregon. Some speculate it may be from Japan, as the result of last year's tsunami.

The dock has a placard with Japanese writing that they are attempting to translate. KATU News out of Oregon, traced a phone number on the placard to a business located in Tokyo.

(NEWPORT, OR) - Kids at Otter Rock surf contest The Surfrider Foundation will host the 4th annual Otter Rock n’ Roll Youth Surf and Beach Cleanup Challenge in celebration of International Surfing Day.

Observed globally, International Surfing Day celebrates the sport of surfing and helps raise awareness about issues facing our oceans, waves and beaches.

Two Arrested Following Stabbing of Three People Near Tillamook

It happened at Alderbrook Golf Course Restaurant & Bar.

(TILLAMOOK, Ore.) - Juan Emigdio Valencia-Ayala of Tillamook and Jacob Zavala-Krumenaker of Garibaldi Tillamook County Major Crime Team detectives arrested two suspects related to a Saturday night disturbance at the Alderbrook Golf Course Restaurant and Bar north of Tillamook that resulted in the stabbing of 3 adults.

The victims received non-life threatening wounds and are being treated at hospitals in Tillamook and Portland. Their names are withheld at this time and may be released Monday after additional follow-up investigation and interviews.

Death Investigation - Ocean Shore near Beverly Beach State Park in Lincoln County

The deceased had no identification and appeared to have been in the ocean for a few days.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - Death investigation Oregon State Police (OSP), with the assistance of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and Lincoln County Medical Examiner, is continuing the investigation into the death of an unidentified female found Saturday morning on a Lincoln County beach near Beverly Beach State Park.

There is no evidence at this time that the death is associated with a crime.

Police in Manhunt Locate Young Adult`s Body and Wanted Pair - UPDATE

The manner, cause of death, and positive identification is pending the results of an autopsy.

(PORTLAND, Ore) - Cody Myers of Lafayette, Oregon On Wednesday, October 5, 2011 Oregon law enforcement officials released information regarding the search for missing 19-year old Cody Myers of Lafayette, Oregon and asked everyone to continue to be on the lookout for Myers, two vehicles including his missing white 1999 Plymouth Breeze four-door displaying Oregon license 025 CCH, and two suspects sought in connection with a murder investigation in Everett, Washington.

Skeletal Remains of Strange Creature Found at HempStalk Festival

Visitors to Kelley Point Park were bewildered by a strange creature-like skeleton.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - sea creature The skeletal remains of this mysterious creature were found at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers in the wild and fairly untamed waters on the edge of Portland.

The live music and entertainment of the HempStalk Festival attracts up to 50,000 people every year. The one thing they didn't expect to show up this weekend was dead, ugly, and lying on the beach.
