Crash Kills Willamina Man on Highway 18 East of Lincoln City

This was the first of several fatal crashes in Oregon today.

(ROSE LODGE, Ore.) - Crash scene Lincoln City, Oregon Oregon State Police are investigating the death of a 37-year old man Monday morning who lost control of his car and rolled off Highway 18 into Salmon River about 8 miles northeast of Lincoln City.

Police Make Arrest in Lincoln City Shooting

17-year old Hector Fernando Canales-Robles was arrested at 5:00 AM Monday by the Lincoln County Major Crimes Team.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - An armed robbery in Lincoln City at the Tanger Outlet Mall over the weekend left an 18-year old Lincoln City man, Ty Pederson, wounded in the face.

It happened Friday evening at the Springmaid-Wamsutta store. Pederson was injured when the suspect began firing during the robbery attempt.


Now Lincoln City Police say they have the man in custody that that pulled the trigger in custody.

Brown Waves On Coast Stumping Visitors, Residents

It’s actually a form of phytoplankton causing all the raucous - the basic, bottom of the food chain in the ocean on which most all life depends.

(SEASIDE, Ore./beachconnection.net/) - Brown Oregon ocean It started out all over the coast earlier this month: a great abundance of brown foamy patches on the waves had visitors scratching their heads and asking local merchants about it in huge numbers. The locals, most of the time, didn’t know either.

Now, the phenomenon has dissipated on the central coast, but the Seaside area has foamy chunks that are much darker and stranger than ever before, causing many to barrage Seaside businesses with questions about pollution or if there was a shipwreck spilling oil out there.

Teen Shot at Lincoln City Tanger Outlet Mall

The suspect in the shooting is described as having a dark complexion, possibly Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall and heavy set with brown hair.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Lincoln City Tanger outlet center Police in Lincoln City are searching for a man accused of shooting a teenage boy at the Tanger outlet mall in Lincoln City.

Police told KPTV that a teenager, later identified as Ty Pederson, was shot during an armed robbery at the Springmaid Wamsutta store inside the Tanger Outlet Mall around 7:00 PM on Saturday.

83-Year Old Man Reported Missing From Gold Beach on Oregon Coast

83-year old William Glenn Boyer is from Gold Beach.

(GOLD BEACH, Ore.) - 83-year old William Glenn Boyer Police on the Oregon coast are looking for an 83-year old man who was last seen around noon on Saturday.

Family members of William Glenn Boyer say he had left the family home on Ocean View Drive in the Harbor area at about noon on Saturday, April 21st.

These family members say they became concerned that Mr. Boyer, who needs medicine on a daily basis, had not returned.

Soldier from Oregon Killed in Iraq

Mike Vaughan is the third soldier from Oregon's coastal Lincoln County, to die in the fighting in Iraq over the past six weeks.

(OTIS, Ore. ) - Mike Vaughan photo A U.S. Army soldier from the small community of Otis, near Lincoln City on Oregon's central coast, was one of nine American soldiers who were killed when a suicide bomber struck a patrol base north of Baghdad Monday.

20-year-old Mike Vaughan was a member of the 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team at Fort Bragg, N.C.

Monday’s attack was the deadliest attack on the 82nd Airborne since 1969.

Rollover Crash at Oregon Coast Sends Four Juveniles to the Hospital

Investigators say alcohol or drugs is NOT suspected as a result of the traffic crash.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore. ) - oregon coast crash The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a single vehicle crash that sent two male juveniles to the hospital with serious injuries.

On Monday, just after 4:00 PM, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, North Lincoln Fire and Pacific West Ambulance responded to the crash on Drift Creek Rd.

When Deputies arrived they learned that a 1997 standard cab Ford Ranger driven by a juvenile male was traveling south on Drift Creek Rd. at an unknown speed.

Police, CAP, Searching Oregon Coast for Missing Elderly Man

He was driving a dark green 1996 Ford Winstar van with Oregon licence plates WHQ-846.

(GOLD BEACH, Ore. ) - civil air patrol plane The Oregon Civil Air Patrol is continuing a missing person search with a Cessna 182 search aircraft from Bend in support of the Curry County Sheriff in their continuing search for an 83-year-old Harbor, Oregon man, William Boyer

Boyer was last seen leaving his home on Saturday afternoon , April 21st , when he left to attend a Marine Corps League meeting at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Brookings.

The former Marine, who requires daily medication, reportedly did not arrive at the church.

New Information Released About Body Found on Oregon Beach Sunday

OSP troopers investigating the incident continue to check any known missing person reports to develop leads in identifying the body.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - body shoe photo Oregon State Police and the Lincoln County Medical Examiner are continuing the investigation into Sunday's discovery of an unidentified badly decomposed body on the beach about two miles south of Waldport.

Additional physical information and a photograph of the shoe believed to be worn by the unidentified person is being released to help in attempts to identify the body.

State Police Investigating Body Found Along the Oregon Coast

Anyone with information that may help is asked to contact OSP Northern Command Center dispatch at (800) 452-7888.

(WALDPORT, Ore. ) - death investigation 350 Oregon State Police and the Lincoln County Medical Examiner are investigating the discovery of an unidentified body on the beach about two miles south of Waldport.

On Sunday at approximately 12:30 PM, a person walking on the beach about one mile south of Governor Patterson Memorial State Recreation Site saw a body floating in the surf.

The badly decomposed unidentified body of an adult male was retrieved from the surf.
