OSP troopers are continuing the investigation.

(OTTER ROCK, Ore.) - Fatal crash near Otter Crest, Oregon 18 Feb 2010 Police troopers are investigating a Thursday morning fatal traffic crash on Highway 101 near Otter Crest that resulted in the death of one person and injuries to five others, four of which were serious or critical.

Could Wreckage Discovered Near Coos Bay be From Missing Boat C-Lady?

The Coast Guard is looking into the matter and no recovery of the vessel is planned.

(COOS BAY, Ore.) - Wreckage of sunken vessel recovered off Oregon The Coast Guard reports that wreckage from a white-hulled boat, including an anchor, windlass and bow stem, was found by the master of the fishing vessel Grumpy J while bringing his nets up from a depth of approximately 500 fathoms, on the first day of February.

(SOUTH REEF, Ore,) - Footage of a California big wave surfer riding a gigantic Oregon reef wave last October has been entered in the Ride of the Year Category for The 10th Annual Billabong XXL Global Big Wave Awards.

I shot the footage of Camarillo, California Eric Akiskalian last October during the Nelscott Reef Tow-In Classic that is held each year by Oregon surfers John Forse and Adam Wagner. Eric and his tow-in partner Keith Galbraith were towsurfing giant waves at South Reef, adjacent to the contest location the entire afternoon and they were riding some of the biggest waves ever ridden along Oregon’s coast.

Death Investigation: Body Located at Base of Cape Lookout

Once the body has been positively identified, investigators will work with out-of-state authorities to help notify next of kin.

(TILLAMOOK, Ore.) - Cape Lookout and the beach below Oregon State Police, with the assistance of Tillamook County Medical Examiner and Tillamook County Sheriff's Office, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a deceased male on a rocky section of beach near the base of a cliff in Cape Lookout State Park.

There is no indication that the death is the result of a crime and positive identification is pending according to OSP Sergeant Todd Hoodenpyl.

Aquarium Husbandry Staff is `Guardedly Optimistic` in Sea Turtle Rehabilitation

An Olive Ridley and a Green sea turtle both show progress at Oregon Coast Aquarium.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - Dr. Dan Lewer, Aquarium Veterinarian, X-Rays a female Green sea turtle in Newport, Oregon The Oregon Coast Aquarium’s effort to rehabilitate two stranded sea turtles continues, with improvement in both turtles, found on different beaches last November.

An Olive Ridley sea turtle was found stranded on Agate Beach in Newport and a Green sea turtle was discovered on the southern Washington coast.
