(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - Lincoln City was the scene of a murder and series of arrests over the weekend, the final suspect was taken into custody early this morning. Lt Jerry Palmer with Lincoln City Police, says it began with a shooting near Taft High School, at the Ridge Apartment Complex off of Highway 101 in the south part of the coastal city. Police officers responded to the reported shooting Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Palmer says a few minutes later, officers made contact with an SUV that had left the scene. Inside the vehicle they found three Hispanic males; one was wounded, and one had already died from from gunshot wounds. Palmer says it led to the arrest of 19-year old Samuel R. Fajardo-Landa, as well as a juvenile suspect. They were both were arrested without incident, as one was seen leaving an apartment. Palmer says the second suspect was talked out a few minutes later. A second juvenile suspect was talked out of an apartment, and taken into custody this morning at 6:30 a.m., after he was talked out of another apartment near the shooting. They were transported to the Lincoln County Jail. The juveniles were arrested for Murder, Attempted Murder, first-degree Assault and first-degree Criminal Mischief. Fajardo-Landa is being charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder. Palmer says the case was resolved very quickly thanks to the rapid response and coordinated effort of Lincoln City Police, the Lincoln County Major Crimes Team, and Oregon State Police. The Lincoln County Major Crimes Team consists of representatives from Lincoln City Police, Newport Police, Toledo Police, Oregon State Police and the Lincoln County District Attorney's Office. Palmer says the investigation is continuing, if anyone has information about the shooting, please call Lincoln City Police detectives at (541) 994-3636.
