Oregon Man in Hospital After Ram Headed for Slaughter Head-Butts Him

The owner of the meat processing shop says he may let the ram responsible for head butting his employee live since it decided to “fight for its life.”

(DAYTON, Ore. ) - ram A 2-year-old ram that was headed for slaughter on Thursday, turns the tables on the butcher and head butted him sending him to the hospital.

Dayton fire officials say they were called to Ben’s Meat Processing Company, located at 13885 SE Amity-Dayton Highway, and found 49-year-old Kelly Duval lying on the ground with serious head injuries.

To Honor 70th Anniversary of D-Day, Oregon Opens WWII Memorial

It is estimated that nearly one million WWII veterans are still living, including more than 17,000 in Oregon.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - WWII memorial Today marks the 70th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion at Normandy. Fittingly, it is the day that the Greatest Generation will receive a long overdue honor at the dedication of the Oregon World War II Memorial on the grounds of the State Capitol at 1:30 p.m.

"We want our World War II veterans and those on the home front to be the first to see their memorial," said World War II Memorial Foundation chair, Lou Jaffe.

Salem Pursuit Ends; Two Taken Into Custody

The car ran into a fire hydrant, skimmed a tree, and flew up in the air, blowing out the tires as it hit the ground.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Oregon police A police chase in Salem has come to an end, and two people have been taken into custody.

The chase ended in the 2000 block of Coral Ave just behind the Big Lots off Sunnyview Road NE.

Silverton Man Arrested After Killing Neighbors Dog

This is still an active investigation and the Sheriff's Office is seeking witnesses who may have seen the events that took place on May 27th or possibly May 26th.

(SILVERTON, Ore. ) - A Silverton man was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing his neighbors dog.

Deputies say 69-year-old Monty Dale Fisher is accused of shooting and killing a 1 ?1/2 year old male, Alaskan Husky named Xavier, on May 27th at approximately 2:00 p.m., in the 10400 block of Hazelgreen Road NE.

Four West Salem High School Students Hold Graduation in D.C.

Video of the students receiving their diplomas from Sen. Merkley will be shown at the West Salem graduation.

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley on Thursday, helped four West Salem high school students celebrate their high school graduation because they will miss their graduation ceremony in Oregon this week.

The students are in Washington, D.C. this week to be recognized as first place winners in the Toshiba/National Science Teachers Association Explora Vision competition.

Aaron's poem, "Meth," took top honors in Words Unlocked, a poetry competition sponsored by the Center for Educational Excellence in Alternative Settings. The poem is at the end of the story.

General Motors CEO: Company Attitudes and Practices Will Change Immediately

Barra said 15 individuals who were determined to have acted inappropriately are no longer with the company.

(DETROIT, Mich. ) - General Motors CEO Mary Barra said today that GM has received the findings of an investigation by former U.S. Attorney Anton Valukas into the Cobalt ignition switch recall and plans to act on all of its recommendations.

Barra described the Valukas findings as "extremely thorough, brutally tough, and deeply troubling."

Oregon Wolf OR7 Has First Litter of Pups

It is likely there are more pups as wolf litters typically number four to six pups.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Wolf in Oregon Wolf OR7 and a mate have produced offspring in southwest Oregon’s Cascade Mountains, wildlife biologists confirmed this week.

In early May, biologists suspected that OR7, originally from northeast Oregon, had a mate in the Rogue River - Siskiyou National Forest when remote cameras captured several images of what appeared to be a black female wolf in the same area.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Sir Diamond Damien Gipson Police in Salem are still searching for a man that they considered to be armed and dangerous.

Police were called Tuesday morning to a domestic disturbance call in the 4700 block of Lancaster Drive NE. After speaking with the victim and her child probable cause was developed to arrest the male suspect.

President Assad still has control to run state television broadcast footage of people queuing to cast their votes in several cities.

(DAMASCUS, Syria) - Syria Even though a bloody civil war rages on in Syria, the government held areas of the country have headed to the polls to choose their next President, which looks to remain the same.

While tens of thousands of people have died during the civil war, which is now three years old, government leaders have put in place a massive campaign to have the vote as a way to try and end the war.
