President, EPA Announce Clean Power Plan Proposal

In 2009, the EPA determined that greenhouse gas pollution threatens Americans' health and welfare by leading to long lasting changes in our climate.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - At the direction of President Obama and after an unprecedented outreach effort, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is today releasing the Clean Power Plan proposal, which for the first time cuts carbon pollution from existing power plants, the single largest source of carbon pollution in the United States.

The man was not wearing a helmet and suffered major head injuries.

(STAYTON, Ore. ) - fatal bicycle crash A 55-year old man has died from injuries he sustained Saturday afternoon after falling from his bicycle while riding on shoulder of Highway 22E just east of Stayton.

55-year-old Leon Wade Hyatt, from Stayton, was riding a bicycle on the eastbound shoulder of Highway 22E near milepost 16.

Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl Released by Afghan Taliban After 5 Years

Jani Bergdahl told reporters, "I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported Bowe — he's had a wonderful team everywhere.

(WASHINGTON, D.C. ) - Bergdahl U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, captured in Afghanistan by the Taliban and held prisoner for nearly five years, was released to U.S. Special Forces on Saturday, with the exchange for the transfer of five detainees from the U.S. facility at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, to Qatar.

The President said "right now our top priority is making sure that Bowe gets the care and support that he needs and that he can be reunited with his family as soon as possible."
