Salem Honored With Playful City USA Designation

Stayton Man Dies From Injuries Sustained in Bicycle Crash

(STAYTON, Ore. ) - A 55-year old man has died from injuries he sustained Saturday afternoon after falling from his bicycle while riding on shoulder of Highway 22E just east of Stayton.

55-year-old Leon Wade Hyatt, from Stayton, was riding a bicycle on the eastbound shoulder of Highway 22E near milepost 16.

(WASHINGTON, D.C. ) - U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, captured in Afghanistan by the Taliban and held prisoner for nearly five years, was released to U.S. Special Forces on Saturday, with the exchange for the transfer of five detainees from the U.S. facility at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, to Qatar.

The President said "right now our top priority is making sure that Bowe gets the care and support that he needs and that he can be reunited with his family as soon as possible."
