(SALEM, Ore. ) - A police chase in Salem has come to an end, and two people have been taken into custody.

The chase ended in the 2000 block of Coral Ave just behind the Big Lots off Sunnyview Road NE.

Witness Samantha Sloper tells Salem-News.com that the car came at her, and almost hit her vehicle, before running into a fire hydrant, skimming a tree, flew up in the air and blew out the tires and damaged the front end of the suspects red Honda Civic.

Police were able to subdue and take into custody both the male driver and a female passenger without incident.

It appears the car was stolen, but Salem Police have not confirmed that information at the time of this story.
