Minahan Named Western Oregon President

Dr. Minahan served as provost of WOU from 1998 to 2004, and served as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Professor of Philosophy from 1986 to 2004.

Senate Candidate Paul Evans Ships Out to Middle East Before Election Day

Evans, a Democrat, is likely to be the only U.S. candidate running for office who will be on active duty in the Middle East on election day.

(MONMOUTH) - Paul Evans Senate Candidate Paul Evans is already engaged in a heated election battle, and now he is preparing to ship off to war.

Evans will be deployed November 5th, two days before he will know whether or not he gets elected to the Oregon Legislature. The deployment was originally scheduled for November 15th.

Western Oregon Teaching Research Institute Receives $10.5 Million Grant

The Teaching Research Institute at WOU began operations this month.

Western Oregon And Chemeketa Community College Create Dual Enrollment Program

Chemeketa Community College has similar dual-enrollment programs with Oregon State University and Portland State University.

(Monmouth, Oregon) - Students from WOU Western Oregon University has teamed with Chemeketa Community College to allow students to be jointly admitted and eligible to concurrently enroll in both institutions beginning fall 2006.

A dual-enrollment program offers students more options in curriculum and student activities, as well as access to student services at both institutions, including fee-based services.
