Air Force Pilot Missing From Vietnam War Is Identified

The Lieutenant Colonel was an F4C Phantom pilot lost on a bombing run in 1967.

(HICKAM AFB, Hawaii ) - F-4 Phantom Fighter The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office announced today that the remains of a U.S. serviceman, missing in action from the Vietnam War, have been identified and will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors.

He is Lt. Col. Alton C. Rockett, Jr., U.S. Air Force, of Birmingham, Ala.He will be buried Monday in Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, D.C.

No Sign of Utah Miners From Second Drilling

Officials say the miners could potentially hold out for weeks in an underground chamber, providing they survived the initial collapse.

(HUNTINGTON, Utah) - Crandall Canyon Mine Media sources are reporting that a second hole drilled in the area where six miners remain missing in Utah yielded no sign of the missing men.

The men have been trapped since Monday in the Crandall Canyon Mine near Huntington, Utah.

Rescue crews were hoping that they would have heard or seen a sign of the missing men by now.

Missing Couple and Grandson Enroute to Oregon Coast Found Safely

Police call it a happy ending. At approximately 8:15 PM, the missing couple, Mr. and Mrs. Brosnahan, were watching the news and discovered that they were presumed missing. They immediately contacted their family. They and their grandson are all fine.

(OREGON CITY) - 1991 Buick Lesabre A missing couple and their five-year old grandson believed to be missing are safe and sound. Their daughter, the mother of the small child, had called them in missing yesterday.

A citizen reportted to the OSP tip that the family had stayed at the Viking Cottage Condos in Newport on August 7th and 8th.

Search Resumes Today for Missing Teen Swimmer

(SALEM, Ore. ) - polk county marine patrol Just after 7:00 PM on Tuesday, the Polk County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol unit responded to the Wallace Marine Park area for a report of a missing 16-year-old male.

The Sheriff's Office immediately responded to the area within just a couple of minutes of the report and located a male on the east bank – just down from the Salem Railroad Bridge.

Man Sought in Disappearance of Oregon Teen

A $5,000 reward is being offered by her parents for her safe return.

(PRINEVILLE, Ore. ) - Amanda Whitehurst photo Prineville police have identified an 18-year-old “person of interest” in the disappearance of 16-year-old Amanda Whitehurst from Prineville, Oregon.

Police say they are looking for Maxwell Alan Villa and two male juveniles who may be in a white 1997 Toyota 4-Runner, with Oregon license XLG 591, which was reported stolen.

Villa is described as 5’10, 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Search Underway for Missing McMinnville Woman Near Olallie Lake (UPDATE)

The missing hiker is Kelli Michelle Bryan, a 21-year-old Linfield College student who is working at Olallie Lake Resort for the summer.

(DETROIT, Ore. ) - Olallie Lake Kelli Michelle Bryan, a 21-year-old Linfield College student, failed to return from a day hike in the Olallie Lake Scenic Area.

Marion County Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Rau says Bryan had left for a hike at about 8:30 AM Tuesday morning from Ollalie Lake Resort where she works.

Coast Guard Searching Oregon Coast for Teen Swept Out to Sea

Dispatchers notified Coast Guard Air Facility North Bend that two boys had been swept out to sea and were in need of assistance at approximately 5:00 PM.

(NESKOWIN, Ore. ) - Coast Guard helicopter photo Coast Guard units are searching the Oregon coast near Neskowin, Ore., for signs of a teenaged boy who was swept out to sea Friday afternoon.

An HH-65 helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Facility North Bend, the crew of a 47-foot motor lifeboat from Station Depoe Bay and local fire department crews are searching the waters near Nestucca Beach for signs of the missing boy.

After Six Days, Still No Sign of Missing Oregon Pilot

The CAP, which has 8 planes and 35 personnel involved in the search Friday, expects to ramp up their search efforts over the weekend.

(AURORA, Ore. ) - Oregon CAP folo The Oregon CAP continues to focus it's search efforts for missing pilot, Courtland Mumford, 65, of Portland on the Oregon Coastal area.

Missing Oregon Pilot Identified

Search operations will continue through the weekend from the Aurora Airport with planes from Oregon and Washington Wings of the Civil Air Patrol.

(AURORA, Ore. ) - Courtland Mumford photo At the request of the family, the Oregon Civil Air Patrol is releasing the name and photograph of the missing pilot that has been the object of an intensive search operation out of the Aurora Airport since Sunday, July 9th.

65-year-old Courtland "Court" Mumford of Portland, a retired airline pilot with over 27,000 flight hours, was reported missing by family when he failed to return from a day of flying his newly purchased Piper Cub aircraft at the Aurora State Airport.
