Oregon Pilots Assist in Missing Person Search‏

The missing hunter is reported to have medical problems and is believed to be driving a red 1994 Chevy pickup truck with a red camper shell.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Crook County in Central Oregon Oregon' Wing of the U.S. Civil Air Patrol is assisting the Crook County, Oregon Sheriff in the search for a missing 47-year old male hunter who has been missing in the Ochoco National Forest since Thursday.

They have stopped operations at this point, "but will bring in four aircraft on Sunday to assist the Crook County Sheriff in the search, Lt Col. Thomas Traver, the Oregon CAP public affairs officer said. "This will bring to a total of 20 CAP personnel involved in this search effort."

Amber Alert Cancelled for 12 Year Old California Boy (UPDATE)

Vehicle Arson With Human Remains‏ Discovered

A Sheriff's Office Spokesman in Clackamas says they have not ruled out suicide, the car in in a very remote location.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says a citizen discovered an incinerated, still-smoldering automobile that appears to contain human remains on a logging road near Estacada. The discovery was reported at 1:37 PM this afternoon, according to Sheriff's Office Spokesman Jim Strovink.

He says members of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit are responding to this remote, isolated location to thoroughly investigate this discovery.

Hiker Survives Fall the Columbia River Gorge‏

The woman sustained a shoulder injury and lacerations to her wrists as a result of the fall. She was rescued by Corbett Fire Thursday after spending the night cold and wet.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The Columbia Gorge An Ontario woman is fortunate to be alive today, after surviving a long fall down an embankment in the Columbia River Gorge.

Rescuers say 52-year old Chris Kimball went on a short hike alone at about 5:00 PM Wednesday from the Oneonta Falls trail head. The lone hiker took a nap on the trail. When she awoke, she lost her footing and fell 70 feet down a steep embankment near the Oneonta trail foot bridge coming to rest in Oneonta Creek.

Servicemen Missing From Vietnam War Identified

They were part of a crew on a C-130 Hercules that crashed near Da Nang, South Vietnam in 1968.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Salem-News.com The Defense Department announced says the remains of two U.S. servicemen, missing in action from the Vietnam War, have been identified.

They are Captain Warren R. Orr Jr., U.S. Army, of Kewanee, Illinois; and Airman 1st Class George W. Long, U.S. Air Force, of Medicine, Kansas. Long was buried September 30th in Medicine and Orr's burial is being set by his family.

Washington Family Sought by Authorities Located in Canada

The family was taken into custody by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

(PLENTYWOOD, Mont.) - The Spady family The Clark County Sheriff's Office was notified by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police early this morning that they had located Jeffrey and Kim Spady, a Washington couple on the run from authorities for numerous counts of Rape of a Child 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree.

Canadian police say they had located the Spady family around 1:30 AM, but had not contacted them. They told Washington authorities that the family was camping at the Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park near the town of Swift Current.

Search Called Off for Man Missing Off Oregon Coast

The Coast Guard says weather conditions on scene were approaching gale force winds with water temperatures in the low to mid 50's.

(ASTORIA, Ore. ) - coast guard The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended the search for a 35-year-old man who fell overboard Saturday, near the Columbia River entrance.

Coast Guard Group Astoria received a call from the 36-foot fishing vessel Ida W II that one of their crew members had fallen overboard and was not wearing a life vest.

Teams Seeks Donations‏ for Sheriff Search and Rescue

The Marion County Sheriff's Office relies almost exclusively on volunteers to provide Search and Rescue services in Marion County.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Search and rescue operation in Marion County, Oregon For the last several years, seven volunteer Search and Rescue Teams in Marion County have asked a local firm to raise funds to benefit Search and Rescue operations in Marion County.

The majority of these Search and Rescue Teams are Non-Profit organizations, and rely heavily on donations from the public to fund necessary equipment and training. Private donations help them to complete their mission in finding lost or injured people in the outdoors, and saving lives.

The driver remains at large, and police say a stolen shotgun was recovered inside the stolen vehicle
