Human Violence: Understanding it... Ending it

Ending human violence will require us to stop terrorizing our children, giving violent individuals support and safe spaces in which to feel their suppressed fear consciously, and changing institutions, such as the legal system, so that we no longer use fear to try to 'modify' behavior.

(TASMANIA, Aust.) - Violence is the most pervasive and destructive human problem of them all. It has been present for as long as history records. We are mired in it, all over the world, every day of our lives.

It now threatens to obliterate us from the historical record within decades, if not sooner.

`I`ve Had a Rough Day`

We as a Nation have lost our way, lost our identity, and lost our God and are in process of losing our soul. Our children are lost in the wilderness, crying for direction, trying to find their way home.

(LAS CRUCES, NM) - We have to have some kind of ongoing conflict to keep our defense contractors busy and our major corporations operating in the black and our stock market alive. We can only coast along for a very short time before we have to kindle the fires of our war machines.

If those fires are not stroked then our bellies become empty and our workers become idle, lazy and are sent home. Our children go hungry, our shopping malls, empty.

Two Reports of NORAD Intercepting Aircraft over New York

The airspace over New York was busy this morning.

(PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo.) - At 10:46 am (PT) it was reported by North American Aerospace Defense Command, NORAD helicopter intercepts aircraft in restricted area over New York: A U.S. Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter flying under the direction of North American Aerospace Defense Command intercepted a general aviation aircraft that had entered the Temporary Flight Restricted area over New York City, N.Y. this morning.

The aircraft which entered the TFR at approximately 1:00 p.m. EST was intercepted and then escorted out of the area. Then, at 11:06 am (PT) we received another release from NORAD and USNORTHCOM.

Navy Yard Mass Shooting: Deja` Vu All Over Again

Already victims' relatives and relatives of other mass shootings are again calling for federal gun control legislation.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - On September 16, 2013, Aaron Alexis, a former Navy reservist, killed 13 people at the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard. Alexis was shot to death by police. Already there are renewed calls for gun control legislation, which will fall on deaf ears.

The Navy Yard killings is the latest mass shooting in the United States.

Kingsley Field Suffers Loss of Guardmember due to Accidental Fall

Tech. Sgt. Ken Patsch is well remembered.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - Members of the 173rd Fighter Wing are saddened by the news of Tech. Sgt. Ken Patsch's death, Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 in an accidental fall in the Klamath River Canyon, near Keno, Ore.

Patsch was an engine mechanic in the 173rd Maintenance Group. Lieutenant Col. Jeffrey Smith, 173rd Maintenance Squadron commander said, "We are sad to say goodbye to a co-worker and friend. He served his nation faithfully for over 15 years."

Al Jazeera: `No Clear Evidence` for Rise in Iraqi Birth Defects

A March finding of 'damning evidence' in the increase in cancers and other health issues was reversed by a new report.

(DETROIT) - A short and anonymous report just appeared on the World Health Organization (WHO) website. It is titled "Summary of prevalence of reported congenital birth defects in 18 selected districts in Iraq." Previously, this report was referred to on the WHO website as a "joint study" with the Iraqi Ministry of Health (MoH) which began in May-June 2012.

It was to examine the prevalence of congenital birth defects in a number of geographically dispersed areas of Iraq which were exposed to bombardment or heavy fighting, or were unexposed.

At Least 12 Fatalities in DC Navy Yard Shooting - Police

A male police officer and two civilian women are in critical conditions, but have “very good” chances for survival.

(WASHINGTON DC RT) - Two of the three shooters, who went on a rampage at the Washington Navy Yard in Southeast DC, may be still at large, police said, adding that one gunman has been killed. At least 12 other people have died in the attack.

“The big concern for us right now is that we have potentially two other shooters that we have not located at this point,” D.C. Police Chief, Cathy Lanier, said.

Oregon National Guard 102Nd Civil Support Team to Participate in Resilient Response `13 Exercise

(Corvallis, Ore.) - The Oregon National Guard's 102nd Civil Support Team is scheduled to participate in an interagency training exercise with first responders in Corvallis, Ore., Sept. 12-13.
