Clatsop County Holds Press Conference in Relation to the Seaside Shooting

(SALEM, Ore.) - Clatsop County DA Joshua Marquis At about 9:20 p.m. on Friday night February 5 in downtown Seaside a wanted 17-time felon named Phillip Ferry was spotted by two uniformed Seaside Police officers. Both officers were familiar with Mr. Ferry and a check revealed an active felony warrant.

As officers tried to detain and arrest him, Ferry shot 39-year-old Seaside Police Sergeant Jason Goodding with a single shot from a semi-automatic pistol resulting in Sgt. Goodding's almost immediate death.

Seaside Police Sergeant and Suspect Die After Gunfire

The suspect reportedly was shot by a taser and responded by shooting the officer with a gun.

(SEASIDE, Ore.) - Seaside Sergeant Jason M. Goodding Authorities say Phillip Ferry was walking down Broadway and was known by the officers to have a warrant for his arrest. Sergeant Goodding and the other officer attempted to place Mr. Ferry under arrest for the felony assault warrant.

Mr. Ferry reportedly resisted arrest and the other officer deployed less lethal force (taser). Ferry then fired a shot and struck Sergeant Goodding. The other Seaside police officer returned fire and shot Ferry.

National Council of Clubs Responds to Denver Motorcycle Expo Shooting

Eight patients were admitted into Denver Health, one died, three were in critical condition on Saturday afternoon after a verbal argument led to gunfire.

(DENVER, Colo.) - Biker shooting Council of Clubs attorney Wade Eldridge was present at the expo and in fact witnessed much of the confrontation. Mr. Eldridge says that he was present when he saw a crowd of Mongols and Iron Order, approximately a total of 20-30 individuals, gather inside the expo. According to Eldridge there was yelling and a verbal argument ensuing.

Mr. Eldridge then heard a gunshot. He saw an Iron Order member holding a handgun in his right hand with his right arm extended. According to Eldridge, he heard people shouting, “Put your gun away!”

Corvallis Man Killed by Gunfire Friday Night

One victim was transported with a non-life threatening injury and another treated for a minor injury.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Corvallis shooting A man was killed by gunfire and 2 others injured Friday night in Corvallis.

On January 15, 2016, at about 7:45pm, Corvallis Police responded to the report of a shooting in the 1100 block of NW 9th St., near Shari's restaurant. When officers arrived they located two victims who had sustained injuries from gunfire while in the parking lot of the restaurant. One victim sustained a non-life threatening injury, the other victim died at the scene.

Toddler Shot by Handgun in Face Expected to Live

The child was taken by Life Flight to a Portland hospital.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - shooting A two-year old girl was accidentally shot in the face on Christmas day.

Clackamas County Detectives responded to the scene and interviewed all involved parties. The investigation showed the child had been shot accidentally while her uncle was cleaning the firearm. She is expected to live after undergoing surgery.

Highway 101 ReOpens In Newport After Officer Involved Shooting

Suspect is in trauma unit in Corvallis hospital.

(LINCOLN COUNTY, Ore.) - officer shooting Two Newport Police Department Officers and one Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy arrived and contacted 53-year old Nantharath Thilavans. He reportedly became combative and multiple attempts at non-lethal force were applied (pepper spray and taser applications) without success.

During the altercation, police say Thilavans raised a dangerous weapon and threatened the officers. One officer fired his duty weapon at the suspect, striking him and critically injuring him.

Two Wounded in Salem Drive-by Shooting

The second shooting in NE Salem in less than a week.

(SALEM, Ore.) - drive by shooting The Salem Police Department responded to a drive-by shooting shortly after midnight Sunday morning in the 4300 block of Kale St NE. A 14-year old boy and his father, 34-year old Arturo Chacon, were both wounded in the incident. Both were transported by medics to the Salem Hospital.

The boy was subsequently transported to a Portland trauma center with a chest wound, but is now expected to make a full recovery.

Salem Man Hospitalized After Shooting at Residence

(SALEM, Ore.) - Surfwoods shooting A shooting took place on a street near Silverton and Brown Roads early this morning. Detectives were called to the 3000 block of Surfwood Drive NE on the report of an adult male who had been shot. Once they arrived they found the male who was transported to the Salem Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Deputies are attempting to locate a person of interest in the shooting: Hispanic, male, adult, 5'07" to 5'08", with tattoos on both forearms. He was dressed in a white tee shirt, white shoes and long gray shorts that hung over the knee.

One Man Injured in Shooting at Cinco de Mayo Festival in Downtown Portland

It does not appear that the shooting is related to the event.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - police line The 19-year-old male victim was involved in a dispute with the suspect before the shooting, which occurred along the seawall, just North of the Morrison Bridge.

Investigators have now identified a 20-year-old male detained at the Rose Quarter Transit Station as the suspect in the shooting. He was arrested and transported away from the scene as the investigation continues.

Police Involved Shooting Puts Mission Lakes WalMart on Lockdown (UPDATE)

A man is barricaded in a motor home, shooting at police.

(SALEM, Ore.) - walmart lockdown Salem Police have the roads blocked leading to Turner Road where WalMart is under a complete lockdown at this time. Employees are inside, and no one is leaving.

Reports indicate that there is an active shooting incident under way near the entrance of Cascades Gateway Park, in WalMart's parking lot. A SWAT team has been activated and may have arrived by this time.
