In this writer's humble opinion it's about time we had a dispensary fight for our rights to be a integral contributing part of society the way Harborside, its directors, and staffs have done.

(OAKLAND) - Harborside Health Clinic Since 1996 many entrepreneurs have ventured into the medical marijuana industry here in California.

To date none have achieved the notoriety or reached the masses like Harborside Health Center.

U.S. District Court Ruling Allows City of Oakland to Continue Fighting Feds

Harborside Health Center Allowed to Stay Open - A win for Medical Cannabis Patients in California Courts.

(OAKLAND) - Steve DeAngelo This morning U.S. District Court Judge Maria-Elena James granted the City of Oakland’s motion to stay the civil forfeiture proceeding against Harborside Health Center Oakland until the City of Oakland’s pending appeal is heard in the Federal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Judge James also ruled that the stay in the commercial forfeiture proceeding should be extended to the Harborside San Jose location.

Mexican Mafia Conquers Oregon --- Almost!

It started in the 1920's.

(PORTLAND, OR) - Mexican Mafia Les Zaitz and The Oregonian have published an excellent Pulitzer Prize eligible series about Mexican cartels and drug abuse, drug addiction and death in Oregon.

Strangely enough, they include marijuana in this category. This is incorrect as is shown in their own graphs showing that marijuana is widely used, up to about 40% of the population.

Oregon House Passes Medical Marijuana Dispensary Bill, On to Senate!

A small step for Oregon; a big step for the pursuit of Life, Liberty & Happiness.

(SALEM) - medical marijuana Medical Marijuana dispensaries in Oregon are well on their way to legalization. Lawmakers in the Oregon House debated with gusto, then approved a bill on Monday that would license and regulate retail outlets that provide the medicine to patients with a state-sanctioned permit. The bill passed 31-27.

The bill was supported by many across the state, including Oregon’s “top cop”, Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum who recently endorsed the measure.

Marijuana Legalization in the United States and Europe

It has been estimated that 400 million people in the world use marijuana but I would guess that the actual use is twice or three times that.

(PORTLAND, OR) - Salem-News.com It is difficult to keep up with the legalization of marijuana by American states.

Two have already decriminalized, and last week legislation was introduced to remove legal sanctions against pot in Oregon, and the number is growing rapidly, and now that states have figured out that marijuana business can be taxed and bring in many millions of dollars, it looks like real progress.

A recent article in The New York Times, homing in on the pain reliever peril, systematically reviews the perils and lethality of the NSAIDS.

(PORTLAND, OR) - NSAIDS The anti-marijuana folks will take great offense at this, but it is a fact. Although NSAIDS are relatively non-toxic as compared to morphine, etc., they do have toxic attributes.

Even aspirin, the most common NSAIDS, kills about 1,000 patients per year. Other adverse side effects of NSAIDS include heart attacks, stroke, stomach and intestinal bleeding, damage to the liver and kidneys, and high blood pressure.

Oregon Medical Board and Medical Marijuana Permits and Their Foolish, Illogical Requirements

Who do they think they are?

(PORTLAND, OR) - Dr. Phillip Leveque When Oregon first legalized medical marijuana in 1998, medical conditions which made a patient eligible for a permit were cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer's, Cachexia/Anorexia, pain, nausea, seizures and spasms.

These medical conditions were on the state application forms and the marijuana doctor was supposed to just check which of the medical conditions that the patients had to get the permit to grow, carry and use marijuana.
