(ESCATAWPA, Miss. GulfLive.com) - Dr. David Bruce Allen, the former heart surgeon who was held in prison for 14 months on drug charges that were eventually dismissed, returned to Jackson County last week and testified in a deposition connected to his $551 million federal lawsuit against Jackson County and Sheriff Mike Byrd.

"I testified about two or three hours with the (county) board attorney and my attorney Michael Crosby," Allen said Monday.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The Journal of the American College of Cardiology just printed an article that PTSD more than doubled the likelihood of heart disease such as heart attacks, had a heart procedure or has been hospitalized for a heart problem. Those with PTSD had 22% problems those without 9%. The cause was less blood flow to the heart muscle.

A leading doctor in the study was Dr. Viola Vaccarino of Emery University who studied that it was known that PTSD victims had higher levels of stress hormones.

In my observations, women have been stressed out since we humans climbed out of the trees, some 50,000 years ago, but things have progressed in recent years.
