Police Seeking Suspect in Weekend Robbery

The suspect is described as a white male mid 30’s with a thin build, approximately 5'10, and weighs about 160 pounds.

(HARRISBURG) - robbery investigation Linn County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a robbery that occurred at the EZ Stop Market located on 3rd street in Harrisburg.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says on Saturday at approximately 10:00 PM a male subject entered the store at a time when no other customers were present.

He demanded money from the store clerk, who complied.

Police in Linn And Benton Counties to Participate in Two Shop With Events

Each child has a $25.00 shopping limit and works their way around the store with a police officer to find gifts for family and friends.

(ALBANY ) - OSP Lieutenant Mark Cotter with a special shopper during last years event For the 12th year, Corvallis and Albany-area police officers will shop together with local disadvantaged and foster children for Christmas gifts as part of a local program called "Shop With a Cop".

Last year, 153 children shopped with state, county, and city police officers in the two very successful events while purchasing videos, clothing, toys and other special gifts.

The event is sponsored mainly through donations from police officer associations, private individuals, and K-Mart, Target, and Wal-Mart.

Search Crews Find Missing Jefferson Man

He was found over 300 feet down a steep embankment with his vehicle.

(DETROIT) - Linn County Sheriff's officers Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says his deputies have located a missing Jefferson man who had been the subject of a search in the Detroit Reservoir area.

54-year-old David R. Zehr, called 911 at approximately 4:10 PM Sunday and told dispatchers he had been outside his vehicle which started to roll down an incline.

Zehr said he attempted to bodily stop the vehicle but was knocked over the bank and was suffering from a broken leg.

Zehr did not have a good idea of his location but was able to inform dispatchers he was south of the Detroit Dam.

Seven Linn County deputies and deputies from Marion County and US Forest Service personnel searched the roads throughout the night and all day Monday.

Man Missing in Sweet Home Area Located (UPDATE)

Friends have stated the missing man may suffer from dementia at times.

(SWEET HOME) - Missing man RD White Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports an elderly Sweet Home man who had been missing since Sunday has been found safe this afternoon.

R D White, age 94, was found with his vehicle at approximately 3:30 this afternoon on the Ames Creek 600 line, a logging road in east Linn County.

Burn Ban in Polk, Linn, Benton, And Lincoln Counties Extended

This fire season to date, 779 human-caused wildfires have occurred on the 16 million acres of forestland protected by the Department of Forestry, well above the 10-year average of 632 fires.

(SALEM) - Backyard fire Continued dry forest conditions and warm weather prompted the Oregon Department of Forestry and local fire districts to extend the current prohibition on open burning in Linn, Benton, Polk and Lincoln counties.

Marion, Linn County Backyard Burning Ban to be Extended

The open burning ban that goes into effect Oct. 1st encompasses the following communities in Linn and Marion counties: Detroit, Gates, Lyons, Mill City, Stayton, Scio, Sublimity, Silverton and Drake's Crossing.

(SALEM) - Backyard fire The current ban on backyard debris burning in the North Cascade Forest Protection District instituted by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to preserve air quality will expire at 12:01 AM on Oct. 1st.

But the Oregon Department of Forestry announced Monday that it will continue the prohibition on open burning after that date due to wildfire danger.

Huge Pot Bust Worth Almost $10 Million Near Scio (NEW PICS ADDED)

Police have raided a huge marijuana growing operation in the mountains between Scio and Lyons that they say had a street value of over $9 million.

(ALBANY) - File photo of marijuana seizure Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says members of the Linn Drug Task Force have eradicated the large outdoor marijuana operation that was discovered in a remote area.

Beginning Wednesday and continuing through Thursday, Linn County deputies, along with members of the DEA and the Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Post pulled and destroyed 4,707 mature marijuana plants.

Man Missing Since Friday Found Safe, Then Placed in Handcuffs

A Springfield man missing since Friday has been found safe near Donaca Lake in east Linn County.

(ALBANY) - Michael Lee Walter, missing man who was arrested Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says search teams located 36-year-old Michael Lee Walter, who was reported missing Saturday afternoon by his family during a camping trip in a remote area approximately 60 miles east of Sweet Home.

The last time Walter had been seen by his family was approximately 6:00 PM Friday. Family members initially attempted to locate him themselves, but were unsuccessful.

A Linn County Sheriff's Office dispatcher located Walter on a road near the search area at approximately 8:15 AM Monday morning.
