Fire Damages Keizer Home

While crews were busy with the fire, they received another call for a motor vehicle accident on Wittenberg Lane NE.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - Inside view of the cab of a Keizer Fire engine A passing motorist alerted Keizer Fire District firefighters of a house fire early Wednesday evening at 4815 Verda Lane NE.

Fire District Spokesman Jim Trett says the driver saw smoke and flames coming from the single family residence. The structure suffered fire damage in the kitchen and attic areas and the rest of the structure suffered smoke damage. Nobody was injured.

Fireworks Blamed in Two Keizer Fires

No injuries were reported in the incidents.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Home fireworks in Oregon July 4 2007: Tim King Keizer Fire District crews responded to two fires that were caused by fireworks late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

The first fire was reported at 10:55 PM on July 4th at 4175 River Road North.

Firefighters found a bush burning at the Sherwood Arms Apartments.

Crash on I-5 Leaves Keizer Woman Fatally Injured

Two small children survived, but the 19-year old woman driving the van has died from her injuries.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Crash scene on I-5 near Albany, Oregon A 19-year old Keizer woman died from injuries suffered in a two vehicle crash July 2nd, on Interstate 5 about ten miles south of Albany.

The Lane County Medical Examiner has notified Oregon State Police that Alicia D. Stefanek of Keizer, died July 3rd from injuries sustained in the crash.

Keizer Police Seeking Assistance in 2004 Unsolved Homicide

A $1,500 reward is being offered by Phillip Johnson's family.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - 33-year old Phillip Johnson Keizer Police officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting at 1845 Claxter Road NE in Keizer. The victim, Phillip Lynn Johnson who was 33-year old at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives from the Keizer Police Department have continued to investigate this incident. Sgt Lance Inman with Keizer Police says that in an effort to assist Detectives in the investigation, the family of Phillip Johnson has offered a reward of $1,500.

Another concern to area fire officials is children misusing fire.

What many area residents seem to forget is that when fire conditions are high in the Oregon woods, they are high in area neighborhoods as well.

That is why officials of the Salem Fire Department, and the Keizer Fire District would like to remind residents to be extremely careful with fire and the things that start fires, especially at this dry time of the year.

Fire Heavily Damages Keizer House

The cause of the fire was determined to be suspicious.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - keizer fire photo An early morning fire caused extensive damage to an abandoned house in Keizer on Tuesday Keizer Fire District officials said.

Keizer Firefighters were alerted to the fire at 5010 Windsor Island Rd. N at 2:23 AM on Tuesday morning.

The abandoned home suffered heavy damage to the front of the structure which was thought to be a total loss.

Keizer Raids Net Meth, Stolen Property

A man and two women were taken into custody.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - keizer meth bust The Keizer Police Department’s Community Response Unit completed a month long drug investigation at 124 Homewood Court N and 3601 Cherry Ave NE in Keizer.

Thursday morning CRU with the assistance of the Detective Division served two search warrants at the above mentioned addresses.

The investigation was started due to information being received about methamphetamine being sold from both locations and stolen property being traded for meth.

Train Crashes Into Fertilizer Truck North of Keizer

Marion County Fire District Spokesman Bob Jung says cleanup work is continuing at this time. River Road N. is closed while that work continues.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - Train crash Keizer, Oregon 53007 Nobody was hurt today when a freight train hit the back of a fertilizer truck that was making its way over the tracks at River Road N. and Brooklake Road at 8:40 AM this morning.

Bob Jung with the Marion County Fire District says the train struck the rear trailer of the fertilizer truck which was not carrying any hazardous materials, instead loaded with inert fertilizer.
