Does Turkey Usher in an Invitation to Obesity?

Eating human garbage will turn our hard-earned cash into a body of trash.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Turkey dinner When we say "gobble-gobble", are we strictly talking turkey lingo or making reference to our own excursions in gluttony? Have we swallowed the outdated myth that More is Better?

"Grab what you can" seems to rule the roost. Ingest to your heart's content, and pay no heed to the damage to your heart or artieries of the rest of rusting circulation system. Just give attention to your belly and make sure it is filled to the rim or moreso. Eat now, and deplete later.

A Ghost in Residence

This is a true story, as far as I know...
Only the names of those involved have been changed since I am retelling their story, as it was told me:

(SALEM, Ore.) - haunted house The house in the suburbs was quite large and beautiful, hardwood flooring and decorative wallpaper complimented the intricate trim detail and crown moldings. Yet there seemed to be something else going on beneath the surface.

It wasn’t long before Mary started to notice that something was strange about their new home, whenever she was alone in the house she often felt as if she was being watched... sometimes she even thought she caught glimpses of “shadows” darting across the room out of the corner of her eye.

Give Meaning Back to Independence Day

If you believe in democracy, we need freedom of the press. Support it with your modest amounts—tens and twenties or more if you can afford it—and know that you’re doing something for the world in which your children will live.

(CALGARY, Alberta) - fireworks display We all know what self-censorship is. On a daily basis we routinely censor ourselves knowing that we should not say certain things to co-workers, friends, or family, just to keep relationships running smoothly (or, often, to keep our job). It’s not, in principle, a bad thing to do even though it’s sometimes just a way to put off unpleasant things until the future.

June Sixth 1944: Civilization`s D-Day
Is Memorial Day a Happenstance?

My last three months of the war gave me a real respect for the about 300,000 Combat Infantrymen who died and the near 1,000,000 wounded.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - D-Day Invasion As a grizzled World War II Combat Infantry Veteran, I reminisce about both June 6, 1944 and the meaning of Memorial Day. It seems providential that they are only days apart.

In 1940 etcetera, I didn’t have a thought in my mind about being shot at with artillery, mortars, air strafing or bombs. WW II was 6000 miles away but I did help build an Air Base in Alaska and the Swan Island Shipyard in Portland.
