Hillsboro Police Investigate Vehicle Fatal Car vs.Pedestrian Collision

Upon arriving on scene Hillsboro Fire and Rescue pronounced the pedestrian, 46-year old Danny O. Hogan, dead from the injuries sustained in this collision.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Death investigation Police and fire units in Hillsboro responded to a car versus pedestrian crash in the 20600 block of Quatama Road in Hillsboro this morning at 7:20 a.m.

Lt. Michael Rouches with Hillsboro Police says the collision occurred when a 2003 Honda Pilot SUV was traveling eastbound on Quatama Rd. approaching Sunbird Terrace.

Tualatin & Hillsboro Firefighters Extinguish Apartment Fire

Four of the eight apartment units within the building sustained fire and water damage with the tenants of the units being displaced.

(TUALATIN, Ore.) - Fire in Tualatin, Oregon 2-18-09 Firefighters in Tualatin were called to an apartment fire at the Amber Court Apartments, located at 692 SW 201ST Avenue in Washington County, last night at 10:22 p.m.

On arrival, crews found heavy fire coming from one side of a 2-story building and thick black smoke coming from the eaves. While firefighters evacuated the building and did a search of the affected units, other crews began a quick attack on the fire.

Hillsboro Police Investigate Car Vs. Max Train Crash‏

The male driver of the car suffered serious injuries and was transported to OHSU via lifeflight and was taken into surgery.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - TriMet Max bus Hillsboro Police say a motor vehicle collided with a tri-met train at 10th and Washington streets in Hillsboro Saturday night, at approximately 7:16 PM.

Lt. Michael Rouches with Hillsboro Police says the driver of a 1996 Mercedes Benz sedan was traveling northbound on 10th street and was struck by the westbound train.

"Preliminary investigation reveals that the automobile may have failed to stop for a red traffic signal," Rouches said.

Hillsboro Police Officer Credited with Saving Infant`s Life‏

Hillsboro Police Officer Jesus Rios had been a medic in the military prior to his employment as a police officer.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Hillsboro Police Officer Jesus Rios Hillsboro Police officers Jesus Rios and Kevin Harrison were flagged down by a motorist on SW Cornelius Pass Road at the Brown Middle School parking lot yesterday, due to a medical emergency.

Lt. Michael Rouches with Hillsboro Police says the couple in the vehicle had called 9-1-1 while at their home nearby on 211th Avenue because their 16-day old infant boy had stopped breathing.

"While waiting for help to arrive they grew frantic and decided to drive the baby to a hospital themselves. While en route they discovered the Hillsboro Officers at the school doing a security check and they flagged down the officers for help," Rouches said.

Oregon Man Arrested for Abusing 7-Month Old Baby

Police say a medical exam revealed that the small boy had suffered a skull fracture.

(SHERWOOD, Ore) - Sherwood Police Officers a arrested 44-year old Hillsboro man today on charges of third-degree Assault and first-degree Criminal Mistreatment in connection with the physical abuse of a seven-month old boy.

Earl Pionell Knox was arrested without incident at approximately 3:30 PM today, in Washington County.

Police say the arrest stemmed from a September 15th incident during which the child's mother, a Sherwood resident, sought medical treatment for the child. The injury was reported to police by health care providers.

Oregon Air Show is a High Flying Success

More than 22,000 attended the event Friday night and the crowds increased as the weekend passed.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Salem-News.com The Oregon Air Show was held in Hillsboro this weekend under beautiful summer skies. There were amazing stunts and gleaming airplanes and as always, those who attended stayed busy keeping up on the dazzling array of aviation magic and suspense.

The cover photo in this story was shot by Q Madp of IraqWarHeroes.org. I immediately recognized the plane as "MiG Magic" and I had the pleasure of spending a day with this stunt pilot once. Former Oregonian Bill Reesman came to Yuma, Arizona in 1996 and I was able to board a Lear jet and fly wing to wing with this blood red Russian MiG-17 jet fighter for twenty minutes.

Hillsboro Police Say Internet Meeting Led to Rape and Kidnapping

Police say the woman escaped from the man after he drove her to a store to get a prescription.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Vernon Louis Woodall of Hillsboro is in jail for raping and kidnapping a Washington woman he reportedly met online. A 48-year old Hillsboro man suspected of raping a 20-year old woman he met on the Internet was arrested by police over the weekend. They say Vernon Louis Woodall is in custody on rape and kidnapping charges after he was taken into custody with an arrest warrant.

Lt. Michael Rouches with Hillsboro Police says officers acted on a report by a 20-year old Washougal Washington woman who told them she met Woodall online, and that she had agreed to meet him on April 16th 2008.

Hillsboro Police Arrest Man for Alleged Animal Abuse Involving Pit Bull

The dog, "Kahula" a pit bull, was transported by police to Dove Lewis Pet Hospital and was treated for cuts to the head and injury to the tail area.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - 22-year old Brandon Matthew Nagy, above, was arrested for abuse involving a pit bull named Hillsboro Police made an arrest in an animal abuse case Tuesday night involving a pit bull. The dog survived the alleged abuse and is recovering from injuries in a veterinarian hospital.
