Several Agencies Assist in Woodburn House Fire

This was the third structure fire in the last 12 hours Woodburn Fire responded on.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Fire in Woodburn, Oregon, 11-23-07 A house in Woodburn was a total loss after an intense fire this morning. Fortunately there were no injuries. Woodburn's Fire District was called into action at 8:39 AM and was soon on scene at 16280 Pudding River Road.

The first arriving firefighters found heavy fire coming from the front of the structure, according to Lt. Darin Unrein with Woodburn Fire. A transitional attack was used to begin extinguishing the fire from the exterior and work to the interior.

Canby Fire Frees Victim from Crash Wreckage

The patient was airlifted by Lifeflight and transported to Emanuel hospital.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Extrication from crash, Canby, Oregon 11-18-07 Canby Fire teams were called out this morning after a four-door Saturn Sedan crashed into a power pole in the 24500 block of S. Central Point Road around 8:00 AM.

Fire Spokesman Troy Buzalsky says that when firefighters arrived, they found that both airbags had been deployed and the one occupant, and adult male, was unconscious and trapped in the drivers seat.

Crash Kills Clatskanie Man Near Deer Island

The highway was closed five hours.

(ST HELENS, Ore.) - Fatal crash near Deer Island in Oregon, 11-18-07 One person died early Sunday morning when the vehicle he was driving crossed into the opposite lane of travel on Highway 30 near Deer Island, collided with a street sweeper and then caught fire after striking a guardrail.

The 1993 Ford pickup operated by the victim was northbound on Highway 30 Saturday at 4:00 AM near milepost 39 when, for an unknown reason, it crossed into the southbound lane and struck the left side of a 1995 Ford street sweeper.

Deceased Woman Found on Beach Near Lincoln City Identified

The location where the victim was found was about 3/4 mile south of where she had planned to go agate hunting.

(GLENEDEN BEACH, Ore.) - Salishan Spit A Monmouth-area woman was found deceased Saturday morning by someone walking on the beach of Salishan Spit. The victim is identified as 56-year old Joan Elizabeth Ten Eyck of Monmouth.

Police say there was no indication of foul play. The investigation will be continued by Oregon State Police with the assistance of the Lincoln County Medical Examiner's Office.

Monmouth Woman`s Body Found on Beach Near Lincoln City

The victim's name and age will be released Sunday.

(GLENEDEN BEACH, Ore.) - Depoe Bay Fire $ Rescue A Monmouth-area woman was found dead Saturday morning by a person walking on the beach of Salishan Spit, south of Lincoln City.

Police say there is no indication of foul play and the investigation will be continued by Oregon State Police with the assistance of the Lincoln County Medical Examiner's Office.

No Injuries from Early Morning Tavern Fire in Salem

A janitor spotted smoke early and saved the business from more damage.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fire at Bit Shots Tavern in Salem, Oregon 11-17-07 The Big Shots Tavern at 3755 Portland Road NE in Salem was the scene of a commercial fire early Saturday morning. The business's janitor noticed smoke inside business and immediately called 9-1-1.

Firefighters arriving on the scene reported flames coming from the roof of the business. A second alarm was called at 4:18 AM, bringing more fire fighters and apparatus to the scene, according to Salem Fire Department Spokesman Bill Holmstrom.

Woman Escapes Salem House Fire

Investigators say the fire was accidentally caused when the occupant left a pot of tea on the stove while she went to get the paper.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fire in Salem, Oregon 11-13-07 Salem Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 865 Kingwood Drive NW today just after 10:30 AM.

Fire Spokesman Bill Holmstrom says that when first response firefighters arrived on scene, they had light smoke coming from the front door of the cottage of this large home.

UPDATE - Semi Rollover Closes Interstate 84 Westbound Near Pendleton

Update: Traffic is now passing the crash scene in one Westbound land of I-84.

(PENDLETON, Ore.) - Crash investigation Oregon State Police say they are on the scene of a semi truck crash on Interstate 84. The westbound lanes were initially closed after the crash near milepost 219, about eight miles of Pendleton.

Transportation officials say one lane of Interstate 84 westbound near milepost 219 has now opened with crews working to reopen the second lane.

No Injuries in Salem House Fire Sunday

The fire erupted when the residents were not home.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Fire in Salem, Oregon, 11-11-07 Salem Fire crews were called out to 3991 Friar Court SE in Salem at 11:37 this morning after the odor of smoke was detected from a neighboring residence.

Fire Spokesman Bill Holmstrom says the next door neighbor also noted that there was smoke from around windows and the front door.
