(SANTA MONICA) - Nominations for the 51st Annual GRAMMY® Awards were announced tonight by The Recording Academy® and reflected one of the most diverse years ever with the Album Of The Year category alone representing the rap, R&B, folk and rock genres.

For the first time, nominations for the annual GRAMMY Awards were announced on primetime television as part of "The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night®."

The one-hour special — broadcast live on CBS from NOKIA Theatre L.A LIVE — featured past GRAMMY winners and nominees reading nominations in several categories, as well as performing songs from the GRAMMY Hall of Fame in celebration of the grand opening of the GRAMMY MuseumSM.

Las Vegas Magician Jackson Rayne Returns Home for Show Tour

A Salem illusionist returns to perform one of the most dangerous escapes in the history of magic.

(LAS VEGAS, Nv.) - Illusionist Jackson Rayne is coming home. The Las Vegas-based magician is preparing to return to Salem, Oregon to perform for the first time in nearly 5 years.

Rayne is a graduate of Willamette University in Salem. His 90 minute magic production is set for Friday, December 12th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Elsinore Theatre. Oregon Air Show is a High Flying Success

More than 22,000 attended the event Friday night and the crowds increased as the weekend passed.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - The Oregon Air Show was held in Hillsboro this weekend under beautiful summer skies. There were amazing stunts and gleaming airplanes and as always, those who attended stayed busy keeping up on the dazzling array of aviation magic and suspense.

Former Oregonian Bill Reesman came to Yuma, Arizona in 1996 and I was able to board a Lear jet and fly wing to wing with this blood red Russian MiG-17 jet fighter for twenty minutes.

A Dose of Real LA Music Erupts During Van`s Warped Tour

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - One of LA's hottest bands, 1AD7, is hitting the road for Van's Warped Tour. I take pleasure in sharing this information as the band's bass player is an old high school friend of mine, James Santisteban. These guys rock hardcore and their music falls naturally into the R & V category, Rhythm & Violence.

It is always good to hear from an old friend, and it isn't every day that I learn one of my buddies is part of an act like this. 1AD7 personifies the part of LA that we grew up in; it is heavily laden with gang activity and police sirens, but also with people who go all the way and work to be the best at what they do.

The band has performed live with national acts like Alien Ant Farm, KottonMouth Kings, Hed P.E., One Side Zero, The Reyes Brothers & Cypress Hill.

Patrick Lamb and Linda Hornbuckle Headline Entertainment for Salem`s Summer in the City

The event has a sizable lineup of entertainers and it happens this Saturday.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Portland-based musicians Patrick Lamb and Linda Hornbuckle will perform on the main stage of Salem's First Annual Summer in the City Music & Wine Festival on Saturday, August 9th. They are joined over the two-day event by twenty-four area acts including Lloyd Jones, Terry Robb and local favorites Flextones and Triple Creek.

The music lineup is backed up by an outstanding wine tasting event. Willamette Valley Vineyards, Redhawk Winery, Abiqua Wind Vineyard, and Silver Falls Vineyards are among the sixteen wineries to showcase their best wines on the streets of downtown Salem.

(LOS ANGELES, Calif.) - With all the political tension gripping this nation, it seems only right that the voice of Rage Against the Machine would emerge with a new album release. There is not a voice in the rock world that takes on Zack de la Rocha when it comes to world politics.

But this is not Rage Against the Machine; this is One Day As A Lion. The band has an unmistakable sound but that stands to reason with de la Rocha's vocals. My understanding via a Los Angeles DJ, is that there was graffiti sprayed and later photographed in LA that read, "It is better to live one day as a lion, than a thousand days as a lamb." Disney confirmed to TMZ.com that Cyrus, who was set to walk the red carpet for the "Disney Channel Games" this coming Friday, will not be there.
