First Wednesday Season Kick Off in Salem, Oregon

Organizers say the family friendly event has something for everyone.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem, Oregon keeps the lights on later than usual Wednesday for the kick off of the City's 1st Wednesday event Wednesday May 7th marks the season kick off for the eighth year Downtown Salem has celebrated First Wednesday. First Wednesday, organized by the downtown businesses and Go Downtown Salem! will be held each 1st Wednesday of the month throughout the year.

The theme of May’s event is "Downtown’s Blooming" reflecting not only the initial installation of beautiful hanging flower baskets but to also celebrate the new businesses, new business locations, and downtown development.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Announces `Liverpool Life`

Mike McCartney will visit to unveil his new photography exhibit.

(CLEVELAND, Ohio) - Mike McCartney now and then Liverpool in the Sixties will take over the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s circular gallery in the Ahmet M. Ertegun Main Exhibition Hall this summer and fall.

Mike McCartney’s Liverpool Life, which opens to the public on June 26th, features incredible black-and-white photographs documenting the origins of the British Invasion.

Miley Cyrus Semi-Nude Photo Takes Internet by Storm

Executives at the Disney Channel are furious about the shot, which is a far cry from the star’s usual squeaky-clean image.

(NEW YORK) - Miley Cyrus 15-year-old Miley Cyrus, teen idol and star of the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana, was pictured half-nude and topless, with only a satin sheet or blanket protecting her modesty for the June issue of Vanity Fair.

The photo was taken by famed celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz. Cyrus said that she was happy with the shot, declaring it "really artsy". But she has had a change of heart now that the picture is in the public domain.

Pentagon to Present Exceptional Public Service Medal to Ben Stein and Bonnie Carroll

Each are being cited for their support of our military.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Bonnie Carroll and Ben Stein with Lynne Cotrell The Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service will be awarded to Ben Stein, author, actor and commentator, and Bonnie Carroll, founder and director of the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, in a ceremony at the Pentagon.

This award is the Office of the Secretary of Defense's highest level public service award. Stein and Carroll are being honored for their contributions and support to the U.S. Armed Forces and the "America Supports You" program.

E! announced they would be bringing the Baywatch star back on TV with a 30-minute long documentary-style show. Fittingly, the show will be titled "Pamela". Sources reported that the series is set to air on the U.S. cable TV network in this summer.

Willamette University Hosts Urban Earth, Art and Music Festival

Each year Wulapalooza includes a fundraiser for a local charitable foundation.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Willamette University event The 10th annual Wulapalooza, Willamette University’s free music, art and Earth festival, will be held Saturday, April 26th on Brown Field.

The festival begins at 11:00 AM with the main music stage opening at 5:00 PM. This year’s featured performers are Mobius Band from New York, and Portland bands The Blow, Blitzen Trapper and Panther.
