One Dead, Five Seriously Injured in Alcohol-Related Crash

Witnesses reported that prior to the traffic crash, the 1989 Buick struck a lamp post in the Spirit Mountain Casino parking lot.

(GRAND RONDE) - Crash scene One person died and five people received serious injuries Monday evening after a two-vehicle head-on crash on Highway 18 about four miles east of the Spirit Mountain casino.

This is the second crash at this location in the past two days involving an intoxicated driver crossing over and striking a vehicle in the oncoming lane, seriously injuring the other drivers and passengers.

Newport Finance Director to be Fired After DUII Arrest

Lee James Gadinas is being held in the Lincoln County jail.

(NEWPORT) - Lincoln County Sherrif The city of Newport's finance director was suspended without pay Monday and will be fired after his weekend arrest on a driving under the influence allegation, Newport City Manager Allen O'Neal said

On Saturday shortly after midnight, 46-year-old Lee James Gadinas, the city's finance director since 2005, failed to stop and continued to his home in Waldport, where he fled inside, said Deputy Lance Cummings.

New Jersey Man Arrested Along Oregon Coast

27-year-old Robert L. Rhoads, from Burlington, New Jersey faces DUII, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering charges.

(NEWPORT) - Lincoln County Sheriff badge A New Jersey man has learned the hard way not to drink and drive in Oregon.

On Tuesday just before 11:00 PM a Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Deputy observed a silver Honda Accord, bearing New Jersey license plate, traveling south on U.S. Hwy 101 near SW Alder St. in Newport without headlights on.

Salem Woman Faces Manslaughter Charge in Fatal Weekend Crash

Police say the suspect ran from the scene and tried to hide behind some bushes.

(SALEM) - A Salem woman faces a first-degree Manslaughter charge after a crash Sunday night that left a passenger in her SUV dead.

Salem Police Lt. Chuck Bennett says 25-year old Aislyn Marie Decorte was driving eastbound in the 700 block of Ratcliff Drive SE when her vehicle entered the 'S' curves and lost control, then smashed into a landscaped area and crashed into a tree with the front passenger side of the vehicle.

Police say passenger 24-year-old Jess Eldon Gregory, died from injuries suffered in the crash.

Police Say Drunk Driver Going Wrong Way Causes Crash East of Salem

An early Friday morning alcohol-related injury crash east of Salem is an example of what Oregon law enforcement agencies will be trying to prevent through increased enforcement efforts this New Year's holiday weekend.

(SALEM) - Armando Hernandez Shortly after midnight, the Oregon State Police Northern Command Center dispatch received a report of a car traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Highway 22E east from Salem at a high rate of speed, that it had spun out, struck a tree but then continued eastbound.

Officers drove parallel to the car with their overhead lights and sirens activated in an attempt to get the driver's attention to stop, but the driver failed to respond.

Near milepost 10, the car crashed head-on with a westbound Ford Focus.

DUII Arrests, Fatal Crashes Up in Oregon Over Christmas Holiday

Expect extra DUII patrols on New Years Eve.

(SALEM) - Oregon State Police car Traffic-related deaths were slightly higher this year, and DUII arrests by Oregon State Police troopers were definitely higher, according to preliminary information gathered related to the Christmas holiday period.

OSP, ODOT and local police agencies are preparing for this weekend's New Year's Holiday extended weekend.

Preliminary information from ODOT's Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), between 6:00 PM, Friday, December 22nd, and 11:59 PM, Monday, December 25th, four people died in two separate fatal traffic crashes over the 78-hour holiday period.

Man Arrested Twice by OSP Trooper Following Two Separate Alcohol-Related Crashes Sunday

70-year-old Wayne Davenport, from Seal Rock just couldn't resist from getting behind the wheel while intoxicated.

(NEWPORT) - A Seal Rock-area man was arrested twice by an Oregon State Police Trooper less than six hours apart Sunday afternoon following two separate alcohol-related crashes in the Newport area.

In both cases the man was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but following the second incident he was lodged in jail on multiple charges.

Head-on Collision Sends Two to Hospital

Fire fighters from Marion County exticated both drivers from their vehicles

(SALEM) - head on crash near Brooks Oregon Two people were seriously injured Tuesday morning after their vehicles collided head-on about four miles north of Brooks on Highway 99E. Oregon State Police troopers are investigating alcohol as a possible contributing factor in this crash.

On November 7th, 2006 at about 6:15 AM, a 1989 Ford Aerostar van driven by 34-year old Elizabeth Encarnacion-Lucero, from Woodburn, was southbound on Highway 99E near Topaz Road NE when it sideswiped a northbound 2000 Chevrolet pickup.

The van continued into the northbound lane where it crashed head-on with a 1996 Honda Accord driven by 27-year old Alberto Alvarez, from Salem.

Encarnacion-Lucero and Alvarez were both seriously injured and trapped in their vehicles.

Alleged Intoxicated Driver Charged With Swiping Baby Seal From Oregon Beach

Senior Oregon State Police Trooper Scott Salisbury transported the seal pup that evening to the aquarium and released it to a staff member.

(FLORENCE) - OSP troopers and Florence police found more than an intoxicated driver September 17th, when a seal pup was discovered in a vehicle stopped in Florence. The driver was arrested for DUII and Unlawful Possession of Wildlife.

On Sunday, September 17th at about 4:00 PM, OSP Fish & Wildlife Trooper Scott Salisbury located the driver that was in possession of a seal pup.

OSP Detective Assaulted, Suspect Arrested During Traffic Stop North of Salem

Adams reportedly attacked the Detective and they fell to the ground during the struggle.

(SALEM) - Christopher Daniel Adams Oregon State Police say one of their detectives was assaulted and injured Wednesday night after stopping a reckless, intoxicated driver southbound on Interstate 5 about 1/4 mile south of Brooks.

The suspect was taken into custody with the assistance of other OSP troopers after a fight that they say lasted approximately 6-minutes.
