Homeowner Chases Burglary Suspects Through Woodburn and Marion County

(Woodburn, Oregon) - Salem-News.com Just after 2:00 this afternoon, Marion County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a 911 call of a homeowner chasing burglary suspects in a vehicle. Details initially were sketchy because the 911 call had been received by NORCOM (Woodburn) dispatchers and then relayed to W.V.C.C. (Marion County) dispatchers.

Salem Bible Church Damaged by Vandals

Damage is expected to be 'considerable'.

(Salem, Oregon) - Vandalized Cross at Salem Bible Church Five juveniles were arrested Saturday afternoon after they broke into the Salem Bible Church, 4109 Center St., in Salem.

Deputy Matt Hagan received the 2:04pm call from a nearby resident reporting that he had seen some kids break a window at the Church and go inside.

Portland Police Investigating a Shooting in North Portland

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Shooting investigation logo Detectives from the Gang Enforcement Team continue to investigate this afternoon's shooting at North Williams and Fremont. 29-year-old Kenneth Wonnell Riley of North Portland was shot once in the right wrist and was treated at an area hospital.

Investigators have learned that there was an exchange of gunfire between a vehicle and a group of people on the sidewalk. Investigators do not know if Riley was the intended target and no arrests have been made at this point. There is no suspect vehicle description at this time.

Child Pornography Bill Closes Loophole, Sets Absolute Ban on Viewing

SB 803 addresses Supreme Court ruling that raised serious concerns.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon's Senate approved legislation to midofy the definition of “visual depiction” in crimes relating to child pornography to include accessing photos on the Internet.

Senate Bill 803 was introduced in response to an Oregon Supreme Court ruling in January that said it isn’t a crime to look at child pornography on the Internet if the viewer doesn’t purposely download images, print them out, or pay for them.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact detectives.

(Keizer, Oregon) - Surveillance image from Keizer Rite Aid Robbery Today at about 3:13 P.M., members of the Keizer Police Department responded to an Armed Robbery having just occurred at the Keizer Rite Aid Pharmacy located at 5452 River Road North.

This was the third robbery of this pharmacy in the past eighteen days.

Stayton Woman Goes to Jail Following 103MPH Reckless Driving Arrest

(Salem, Oregon) - Kalisha Mashadda A 28-year old Stayton woman spent the night in the Marion County Jail following her arrest for reckless driving Friday night. Traffic Safety Team Deputy Ethan Griffith spotted Kalisha Mashadda driving southbound on Interstate 5 near Market Street in Salem at about 10:30pm. Griffith clocked her late model Honda Accord at 82mph as she tailgated vehicles and then rapidly changed lanes and passed other vehicles.

Keizer Burglary in the First Degree Arrest

(Keizer, Oregon) - Michael L. Sims On April 15th, 2011, at 9:03 PM, Catherine Ebright called 911 to report she had just returned home and discovered an unknown male subject inside her residence committing a burglary.

Mrs. Ebright lives at 777 Dearborn Avenue NE, Keizer. Mrs. Ebright stated she verbally challenged the male suspect, but he fled out of her residence carrying a large duffel bag with stolen property inside it.
