Helicopter Crashes in Grays Harbor: Both People Survive (VIDEO)

It was reported that the passenger survived the crash into the water without being injured. The pilot however, did reportedly suffer minor injuries.

(ASTORIA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com The Coast Guard says a privately owned helicopter crashed into the shallow waters of Grays Harbor, Washington sometime before 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7th 2009.

It happened about a mile north of Ocean Shores, Washington. The people were located and recovered early in the morning.

Coast Guard Believes Person May Have Gone Overboard From Washington Ferry

Local authorities join Coast Guard in search for missing person from Washington State Ferry.

(SEATTLE) - Ferry Tacoma in Washington The Coast Guard is searching for a possible missing person after a vehicle and cell phone were found unclaimed on the Washington State Ferry (WSF) Tacoma, Monday.

The vehicle was located abandoned on the Bainbridge Island, Washinton to Seattle ferry by WSF employees who concluded that the owner may have gone overboard into the water. The vehicle is registered to Amy Storey of Sequim, Washington.

Coast Guard Rescues Two Brothers and a Dog from 300-foot Ravine (VIDEO)

The brothers were located and a rescue swimmer was lowered into the ravine and located the brothers and their dog.

(ASTORIA, Ore.) - Salem-News.com The Coast Guard rescued two brothers, six-years-old and seven-years-old, from a 300-foot ravine at Cape Kiwanda, near Pacific City, Oregon Tuesday.

Coast Guard officials say the mother of the boys called 911 at approximately 12:45 p.m., after the brothers had ventured down to the bottom of the ravine and were unable to find their way back up.

Search Suspended for Missing Boater near Astoria, Oregon

The Coast Guard Air Station in Astoria received the report at 12:26 p.m. and dispatched an HH-60 helicopter crew while a 25-foot motor lifeboat crew left from Coast Guard Station Cape Disappointment, Washington.

(ASTORIA, Ore.) - Tongue Point in Clatsop County, Oregon Coast Guard officials say the search has been suspended for a man at Tongue Point who went missing Sunday after the boat he was in struck a submerged object and capsized.

The Clatsop County Sheriff's Office has dispatched a dive team to the area hoping to find some sign of the missing man.

Coast Guard Rescues Two from Overturned Vessel near Cape Elizabeth

Using directions provided by the Coast Guard's Rescue 21 system, the helicopter crew was able to locate both men.

(SEATTLE) - Coast Guard helicopter The Coast Guard rescued two fishermen who fell from an overturned fishing vessel near Cape Elizabeth, Ore., Tuesday.

Coast Guard units in Port Angeles, Washington, and Astoria, Oregon, recieved a mayday from the 31-foot fishing vessel, Renee Marie, at 7:20 p.m.

Coast Guard Assists Disabled Vessel off Oregon Coast

There are no reported injuries at this time, and no information as to the cause of the flooding.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - Coast Guard helicopter The Coast Guard has responded to the distressed fishing vessel Master Chris after reports that it is taking on water off the Coast of Yaquina Bay, Ore., Sunday.

Motor lifeboats from Depoe Bay and Yaquina Bay, Ore., as well as a rescue helicopter from Northbend, Ore., are on scene with the vessel at this time.

Coast Guard Responds After Sailing Vessel Strikes Bridge (PHOTOS)

No damage to the bridge was sustained, however the sailing vessel sustained considerable damage to the mast.

(SEATTLE) - Sailboat after striking Oregon bridge 3-29-09 The Coast Guard responded to a disabled sailing vessel after it collided with the Vancouver Burlington Northern Railroad Bridge in Vancouver, Wash., Sunday.

Coast Guard Sector Portland Ore., received a report at 1:32 p.m., that the mast of the sailing vessel Grace collided with the Vancouver Burlington Northern Railroad Bridge.

Teen Who Died During Rescue Awarded Gold Lifesaving Medal Posthumously

The Gold Lifesaving Medal was established by Congress in 1874 and is one of the oldest military medals.

(SEATTLE ) - Gold Lifesaving Medal Awarded to the family of Ross Barfuss A Gold Lifesaving Medal was posthumously awarded to a local hero named Ross Barfuss at Aloha High School in Aloha Oregon, Thursday.

Ross died at the age of 16 while attempting to rescue a 12-year old boy who was caught in heavy surf near Cutler City, Oregon on March 8th 2008.
