Coast Guard Assists Disabled Vessel off Oregon Coast

There are no reported injuries at this time, and no information as to the cause of the flooding.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - The Coast Guard has responded to the distressed fishing vessel Master Chris after reports that it is taking on water off the Coast of Yaquina Bay, Ore., Sunday.

Motor lifeboats from Depoe Bay and Yaquina Bay, Ore., as well as a rescue helicopter from North Bend, Ore., are on scene with the vessel at this time.

The Master Chris is making way under its own power, with the assistance of two Coast Guard dewatering pumps, traveling towards Yaquina Bay, Oregon, with four people on board.

There are no reported injuries at this time, and no information as to the cause of the flooding.

As your paper is from the capital of the state of Oregon, you should know that the city on your state's coast that you call Northbend is properly called North Bend.
