Germany Says Goodbye; America Welcomes Chrysler Back to U.S.

The Chrysler Group will maintain it's financial obligations for employee pension and healthcare benefits.

(STUTTGART, Germany) - Mercedes Benz The Board of Management of DaimlerChrysler AG has today decided, subject to the approval of the Supervisory Board, on the future concept for the Chrysler Group and the realignment of DaimlerChrysler AG.

The group's cost of $7.4 billion leaves DaimlerChrysler with the remaining 19.9% equity interest in the new company, that will continue to manufacture Chrysler Corporation LLC vehicles, Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep®.

October is Car Care Month; Now’s The Time to Prepare for Winter Driving

Once again, AAA is designating October as Car Care Month, and encourages vehicle owners to “get ready, get set, and go.”

Ferrari Club Rally Nets High Speed Citations on Highway 20 West of Sisters

OK, if you were a traffic cop, wouldn't bagging a speeding red Ferrari sort of be a goal? State troopers brought out the brass and overtook some of the sports cars named for the legendary Enzo Ferrari, as they blasted down Highway 20 near Sisters. More Ferrari talk below.

AAA Oregon Great Battery Roundup Now Underway

During the entire month of April, AAA Oregon/Idaho AAR facilities will accept, at no cost, used automotive or marine lead-acid batteries and send them to plants where they can be recycled into new batteries

(SALEM) - car battery Earth Day, April 22nd, will get a boost again from AAA Oregon/Idaho, its battery service professionals, its Approved Auto Repair (AAR) partners and area motorists as they work together to rid the environment of used lead-acid batteries.

Some of these old batteries are illegally disposed of in dumpsters, or are simply placed in family garages, yards or storage sheds where they could leak and contaminate the soil and groundwater, explode and cause a fire...

Garage Fire Destroys Classic Cars

Fire destroys two Mercedes Benz automobiles, one dating back to 1932.

(SALEM) - Fire scene April 4 2006 Salem firefighters were called out Sunday night just before 10:00 PM to a report of a fire in a detached two car garage at 2675 Lansing Ave NE.

Fire Department Spokesman Joe Parrott says initial reports indicated the blaze was well underway, "The garage was fully involved in fire, so a second alarm was called."

"On arrival firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which involved the entire garage."

Parrott says the fire destroyed two classic cars, a 1932 Mercedes coupe and a 1964 Mercedes sedan. The fire also heavily damaged the garage but did not extend to the adjacent house. There were no injuries.
