(FORT WORTH, TX) - KWVT's Mike Mattson says the staff of Salem's local TV station is pleased to announce that the 2006 USAR HOOTERS PRO CUP SERIES is returning to KWVT beginning on Friday March 17th at 6:00 PM. The exciting 30 race season is coming your way via the 2006 Hooters ProCup Series. Over the past nine years, the Hooters ProCup Series has not only become the premier U.S. short-track series, but also a premier magnet for television viewers across the country and the world. Last season, new records were set in registration, driver participation, and viewing audiences. But the biggest record was in the competition on and off the tracks. On any given week, nearly 15 drivers per Division had a legitimate shot at ending the night in victory lane. As the series prepares to start its 10th season with the running of the Naturally Fresh 250 presented by Racing Electronics on Saturday, Feb. 25th at USA Int`l Speedway, it appears the depth of the driver`s pool and the heated driving competition is going to continue to grow throughout the 2006 series. In the Southern Division alone, the addition of new talent such as Jeff Fultz, Trevor Bayne, A.J. Fike, Mike Mason, and Dange Hanniford, coupled with the return of eight of the top 10 drivers from 2005, will raise the competition bar again. Watch and see if Shane Huffman is still the man to beat.
