Beavers Jodie Taylor Named All Pac-10

The career record holder in goals and points, Taylor led Oregon State this season with 14 goals and 32 points.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - jodie taylorFor the fourth time in her career, Oregon State women’s soccer player Jodie Taylor has been named all-conference as the senior forward picked up first-team All Pac-10 Conference honors the conference office announced on Thursday.

Taylor, who recently finished her career, rewrote the Oregon State record players as she became the first player in school history to record over 100 points in a career.

The Rams hit 50 percent (26-of-52) from the field for the contest as Stuart Creason led the way for Colorado State with 17 points and 17 rebounds.

Dixon, who will not return, sprained the knee against Arizona State on Nov. 3. He wore a brace Thursday night.

(SAN DIEGO) - Jake PeavyOn Thursday, the National League Cy Young Award fell right into Jake Peavy's lap, as the 26-year-old became the unanimous winner of the honor, as he was named first on all 32 of the ballots that were distributed to voting members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America.

Peavy led the league in just about every pertinent category in 2007 -- victories (19), ERA (2.54), strikeouts (240) and strikeouts per nine innings (9.67).

The indictment, unsealed Thursday by federal prosecutors in San Francisco, is the culmination of a four-year federal probe into whether he lied under oath to a grand jury investigating steroid use by elite athletes.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Brandon BennettWillamette senior offensive tackle Brandon Bennett has been selected to play for the American Football Coaches Association’s Division III all-star team that will represent the United States against the Mexican National Team in the 2007 Aztec Bowl on Dec. 8 in Chihuahua, Mexico.

Bennett was named First Team All-Northwest Conference three consecutive seasons, after earning Honorable Mention All-NWC recognition as a freshman). He was selected for the AFCA All-America Team as a junior in 2006.
