(DETROIT) - In dramatic fashion, the University of Kansas men's basketball team defeated Davidson 59-57 Sunday at Ford Field to advance to the NCAA Final Four.
In a game that saw nine ties and seven lead changes and had everyone in the stands on the edge of their seats, Kansas picked up the win on the defensive end when Davidson saw its last second shot fall left of the rim, and the celebration began.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Seventh-year head coach Justin Sherwood announced the signing of Greater St. Helens All-League 1st team member and 6-foot-8 senior Erik Cronrath (Battleground, Wash.) from Battleground High School today, as the first official Corban men's basketball member of the Class of 2012.
Cronrath, who played forward at Battleground High School, arrives in the Capitol City following a senior season in which he averaged 14.0 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, and 2.4 blocks per contest.

(SACRAMENTO) - University of Oregon’s Rachel Yurkovich made her 2008 track debut a success by posting an automatic qualifying mark for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Regional Championships on her first throw of the season in winning the women’s javelin at the Sacramento State Nike Elite Invitational Saturday.
The Newberg junior and two-time All-American won the event with a best of 175-4 on her second attempt.

(SEATTLE) - Oregon State juniors Tasha Smith and Jami Lanz combined to win three individual titles and the seventh-ranked Beavers finished second at the Pac-10 Championships Saturday evening and Tanya Chaplin was named Pac-10 Coach of the Year.
OSU, which has now beaten every team in the Pac-10 this season, improves its record to 17-4.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Chris Hopkins hit a walk-off single in the 10th inning to give the Oregon State baseball team a 2-1 extra-innings victory over Washington in the second game of a doubleheader at Goss Stadium.
The win followed an 8-1 victory in game one for Oregon State. John Wallace led off the 10th with a single to the second baseman, who subsequently threw the ball into the dugout, allowing the Oregon State left fielder to reach second.

(CORVALLIS, Ore.) - Reggie Davis has been named assistant football coach at Oregon State University, Beaver head coach Mike Riley announced Thursday. He will coach the running backs while current Assistant Head Coach Jay Locey will take over wide receiver coaching duties.
Davis coached the running backs at UNLV the last three years after spending the 2004 season as the tight ends and assistant special teams coach at the University of San Diego.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Senior Jessica Steigleman (Eugene, Ore.) capped an amazing four-year career Tuesday, as the Warrior co-captain earned NAIA All-American honorable mention recognition joining two other Cascade Collegiate Conference players on this year's team.
A 5-foot-10 guard/forward combo player, Steigleman concluded her final season in the Capitol City by leading the team and conference in scoring with a total of 533 points and an average of 17.8 points per game.
