Oregon State Takes Series Finale From Arizona State

Chris Hopkins went 1-for-4 with one RBI and was 6-for-11 in the series, scoring three runs.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Jorge Reyes Jorge Reyes pitched a gem, going eight full innings, as the Oregon State baseball team took the series finale against No. 23 Arizona, 3-2, Sunday afternoon in front of 2,367 fans at Goss Stadium.

Reyes’ eight innings marked his longest outing of the season and the right-hander gave up one earned run. He struck out six batters and gave up no walks.

Former Oregon RB Stewart Headed to Carolina

Carolina began the day with six running backs on its roster after releasing its leading rusher from a year ago, DeShaun Foster.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Jonathan StewartFormer University of Oregon running back Jonathan Stewart became the Ducks’ highest running back to be taken in the NFL Draft in 36 years when he was chosen by the Carolina Panthers with the 13th overall pick in the first round Saturday.

The Ducks’ first-team All-American completed his collegiate career as the school’s single-season rushing leader with 1,722 yards, and finished as its second-leading rusher of all time with 2,891 yards.

(CALDWELL, Idaho) - Derek StokesDespite a non-traditional triple play by the Warriors in the night cap and a combined three hits by senior Daniel Flores (San Jose, Calif.), Corban's baseball team dropped a pair of regional games to The College of Idaho, 8-7 & 4-2, Friday at Simplot Stadium.

Making its second straight trip to the state of Idaho, Corban was looking to rebound from last weekend's three-game series with the NAIA's No. 2-ranked Lewis-Clark State.

Hansbrough to Return to UNC for Senior Year

Ellington, Lawson enter Draft without hiring agents.

(CHAPEL HILL, N.C.) - Tyler HansbroughTyler Hansbrough, the 2007-08 National Player of the Year, will return to the University of North Carolina for his senior year and sophomore guards Wayne Ellington and Ty Lawson will declare for the NBA Draft but not hire agents, allowing for the possibility for them to return to school at a later date.

The Poplar Bluff, Mo., native has scored 2,168 points and grabbed 943 rebounds. He is the second-leading scorer in Carolina history and is first among ACC players and eighth in NCAA history in free throws made with 733.

Arizona starting pitcher Preston Guilmet pitched his first complete game of the season.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Chris Hopkins Chris Hopkins had three out of the Beavers’ five hits, but the Oregon State baseball team was shut out by No. 23 Arizona, 7-0, Friday night in front of a crowd of 2,123 at Goss stadium at Coleman Field.

Hopkins singled in the third and sixth innings and hit a double down the line in the eighth. It marked his eighth multiple-hit game of the season and third with three hits.

Dirk Nowitzki had his third straight strong game with 32 points, 19 rebounds and six assists for the Mavericks.

(DALLAS) - Dirk Nowitzki After winning the first two games at home, the Hornets came up very small in Big D as the Mavericks got a wrap on All-Stars Chris Paul and David West in a 97-87 victory that narrowed the deficit in their Western Conference first-round series to 2-1.

It was the 14th straight loss in Dallas for the Hornets, a streak spanning more than 10 years and three home cities.
