Salem Man Injured in Early Morning Shooting (VIDEO)

Investigation of the incident is ongoing.

(SALEM, Oregon) - Salem residents in the 4000 block of Bonanza Drive NE were awakened to the sound of gunfire at approximately 3:34am this morning.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office received several 911 calls from citizens reporting the shots being fired.

The exact number of rounds fired and the type of weapon used is unconfirmed at this time.

Deputies arrived at the scene to find a 30-year old man, Ellis Bellack suffering from a minor gunshot wound to the arm.

Bellack was sleeping on a couch in the house when he was struck.

He was transported to the Salem Hospital where he was treated and later released.

At this time, there is no information available on possible suspects or the motive for the shooting. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
