'Our Silent Epidemic' by Senator Ron Wyden

Senator seeks support for petition regarding military sex abuse.

Militarty sex abuse

(WASHINGTON, DC) - (Note from Editor: This is a critical subject we have addressed for many years here at Salem-News.com, our writer Dr. Phillip Leveque has authored a number of articles about this epidemic and you can read those articles at this link)

It’s both unbelievable and shameful: Each year in our military, there are more than 26,000 cases of unwanted sexual contact, sexual assault, or rape.

It’s a silent epidemic that is tearing our country apart from the inside, folks.

Slowly but surely we’ve worked to shine a light on this tragic problem, and now we could be just days away from a solution.

Please sign my petition today: Tell the Senate to finally pass the Military Justice Improvement Act.

The idea is simple and fair: Ensure that victims have their cases heard before independent military prosecutors, and take these cases out of the military chain of command.

Most importantly, the victims of these cruel crimes support this long-overdue change.

Doing nothing is not an option. These victims deserve our support, and the Senate needs to put partisan politics aside and do the right thing.

Please sign our petition and tell the Senate to pass the Military Justice Improvement Act right away.

Thanks,

Senator Ron Wyden
