Nov-15-2011 11:03TweetFollow @OregonNews Occupy Salem Oregon has been asked to leave Willson parkSalem-News.comNews from Occupy Salem
(SALEM ) - The Parks and Recreation Department has notified Occupy Salem that due to problems on site, they will not grant our event another permit and may revoke the current permit if new violations occur. More on osoga.com This issue will be discussed in our upcomming general assemblies. The public can visit any night at 7:00 p.m. any night, to help address this issue. A recent General Assembly agenda item was "time to reformat?" addressing whether or not it was time to redesign the camp or change our strategy. It is unclear what will happen beyond the current deadline to leave Willson park; it is time for the group to come together and choose what direction Occupy Salem Oregon will take. A press release states: "However, we must persevere. In the meantime, please join us at the capitol steps Thursday, November 17th at 4:00pm to demand jobs instead of cuts. We should invest in our country." From the flier: "We've had enough cuts! The rich don't need more tax breaks on the backs of the 99%. We have to wake Congress up."

The headline on this story is wholly incorrect. The group has not been asked to leave the park. After the end of the month, they are free to use the park the same way any other citizen does. They will no longer have a permit to put up tents or other structures, however, and those must be out of the park by December 1. Thanks for correcting.

Editor: Right Chris, but being on the capitol grounds places this park in a different category, at least potentially, is that not correct? I remember when this same thing happened with the young woman overnighting on the capitol steps, which she was ultimately allowed to do. Also please remember that there is a great deal of security in state jobs such as yours, the Occupy Camp is indeed on another page.
At any rate thanks for your comment.

I'll wager not one of these Salem mobsters has ever had a job. If so, it was probably some union job and other tan payroll taxes they have never paid income taxes. It's over losers, go back to your caves and die!
