Oregon's illegal immigration debate flared anew this week.

(SALEM – AP) - Oregon's illegal immigration debate flared anew this week when a Republican legislator contended she and others had been branded as "racists" by an employee of Democratic Secretary of State Bill Bradbury.

Representative Linda Flores of Clackamas raised the issue at a Capitol rally yesterday where protesters gathered to demand that driver's licenses and voting rights be granted only to immigrants who can prove they are citizens.

A political commentary by Bradbury's communications director, Anne Martens, said immigration reforms were being promoted by people who are "anti-immigrant" and "anti-Mexican." She said it is time to call it what it is: racism.

Flores said she is outraged and plans to take the matter up with Bradbury. Martens, meanwhile, is unapologetic and says the view is her own and not job-related. The three Republican candidates for the gubernatorial nomination are advocating a tougher stand against undocumented foreigners.

The Problem is Mexico's, this should not be our financial problem. You can not work with Mexico for is a very corrupt place. The government of Mexico would think nothing about the deaths of the female woman factory workers in Juarez, covering up their murders. Even though countless bodies turned up in the deserts. This about money, special interests groups, and exploiting slave labor. Abe Lincoln fought against slavery, but it exists today due to groups like PCUN Food Growers, La Raza, and Catholic charities that get paid money in order to advocate for people who break the law by keeping them here illegally and working them in the shadows. They think they can get a backdoor pass illegally. This special group uses their race and poor social economic situation as a reason to remain here illegally. Senators like Gordon Smith had a need to exploit these people for financial profit. Giving driver's licenses to illegals allows them to stay here for eight years. Then Mr. Smith is anti-amnesty. So they can work here illegally but can't become citizens. Eventually they advance out of the fields into the middle income range. The problem is not that complex, its just too many people profit off them, therefore off the backs hard working Americans. The bigotry is against you and I who are legal citizens who had to subsidize them. Its really not that complex, lets call a spade a spade. This has nothing to do with race, but BIG MONEY. THE UNIONS AND BIG BUSINESS WANT THEM HERE ILLEGALLY, and will do whatever they can to exploit these people.

The People of Mexico and the USA should be working to unite as neighbors and clean up our governments for the good of us all. Enough with all the hate and name calling. The problem is much bigger than poor Mexican people coming here for a chance at a better life.
