(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Thetus Corporation, a leading provider of semantic knowledge modeling and discovery software, today announced the expansion of its executive team with the appointment of Jody Houck as vice president of its newly created Federal Systems Division.

The new leadership position and division signify the company's commitment to furnishing the highest levels of support for its growing network of system integrators and customers in the federal markets.

Thetus semantic knowledge modeling solutions have been well received by federal agencies that rely on the discovery and analysis of information related to mission-critical intelligence, and the company's enterprise software has been deployed as the semantic technology foundation for several federal intelligence and analysis programs.

With a foundation in the government sector firmly established, Thetus created the new division and position as the first step in developing a new sales and support organization local to its growing base of customers in Washington, D.C.

"The creation of a Washington, D.C.-based division is a natural progression for Thetus as we continue to build our portfolio in the federal market, and we are thrilled to have Jody leading this endeavor," said Danielle Forsyth, founder and CEO of Thetus. "She has built an exceptional career at the crossroads of information technology and intelligence, and I'm confident her expertise will be of tremendous benefit to current and future Thetus customers."

Houck has more than 20 years of experience in the intelligence community and is returning to the private sector because she sees a crucial need for Thetus' semantic technology in government applications.

"I'm impressed with Thetus Publisher's ability to help federal agencies extract meaningful, contextual knowledge from the universe of unstructured data to drive better policy and action," said Houck. "Having served both the government and private sectors, I understand the increasingly complex challenges associated with critical decision-making. I look forward to helping our integration partners and government customers realize new capabilities with this innovative and relevant technology."

Houck joins Thetus after serving as a senior professional staff member on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Over the span of her career, Houck has also served in engineering and program leadership roles with Boeing, Intelligent Data Systems, Silicon Graphics Incorporated, Harris Corporation, and the National Center for Applied Technology.
