Jews and/or Gentiles?

The question of whose religion is right and whose is wrong is not one we can affect or change, or even answer.

(CLEVELAND) - A great deal of religious sentiment and content passes through these Web pages on Salem-News.com, leaving many questions along the way.

It seems clear that there is not enough of this material published online. There was a time when religious organizations were forward thinking, but for the most part they segregate themselves and fail to interact with their communities.

The question of whose religion is right and whose is wrong is not one we can affect or change, or even answer. We can't afford to; we are not supposed to judge others.

The truth is that religion is almost always tied to doom and destruction, but why?

And one also has to wonder why, with the teaching tools in place does history continue to repeat itself? The answers to everything are there, and the word used to describe this process is 'faith'.

Those who don't know the word...

Jews and/or Gentiles?

I had overheard some Baptist Pastors and it was news,
Saying that Abraham’s blessings are only for the Jews,
Old Testament books are not for New Testament saints,
Well I am no bible scholar but wrong, like hell it ain’t.

Here is the problem with religion and I find it very odd,
Ministers who speak negative, preach the word of God,
Reading Galatians 3:6-9 does not the bible clearly state,
Through Abraham God would justify, Gentiles by faith?

Verse 3:15, “cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,”
Redeemed so the blessings will come upon you & me,
The seed cometh to whom, the promise had been made,
Blessings through Jesus are more than just being saved.

Christ healed the soul first because it would never die,
Before the physical body as it would perish that’s why,
Salvation bringing eternity is key do not get me wrong,
But I get so sick & tired of hearing this same old song.

All blessings the Jews had in the old is ours in the new,
Whereas, all means everything and not just one or two,
What’s promised might be given to those who believe,
Open your bible to Galatians, so as to not be deceived.

Now this is a most alarming trait I just find it strange,
Many in the pulpit read the bible then they rearrange,
Inserting personal views, not from verses of scripture,
Why are there so many churches? Look at the picture.

Therefore everybody wants to be, the head not the tail,
Except for those who prefer isolation inside the whale,
Take a look at those trying to take wind from your sail,
Is it possible you can’t, as they were unable to prevail?

Who goes to a buffet, plenty of choices, only pick one?
It’s like salvation, God didn’t say, “that’s it, I’m done,”
Our Father’s kingdom blessings are like a smorgasbord,
Abraham’s children through faith? We do easily afford.

These promises were spoken to Abraham and his seed,
Rightfully, we have them in our greatest time of need,
No longer from keeping the law but God in His grace,
For everyone alive today and not just the Jewish race.

Luke Easter is a poet who writes about things that are very close to the heart of Salem-News.com. Another former U.S. Marine, Luke heals the world with an approach that reaches people on a different level, one known for centuries, yet too often forgotten in the one we live in.

We live in a world of social & economic injustice. The main reason for founding America in the first place was to relieve the oppression of the King of England. Patrick Henry said it best, “give me liberty or give me death.” And yet, all too often death seems to be the only way out. Why is there such a high suicide rate especially among teens, in the land of the free & the home of the brave? What makes headlines? Good news? Ha! More depressing stories than anything else. I feel poetry takes an edge off the hurt of bad news while still delivering it but in a, “glitzy” sort of way. Giving a different perspective. Kind of like slap in the face as opposed to a knife in the back. At least with the slap you’ll live to see another day and you will know whom it’s from. I wasn’t here for the beginning of the world but at 59, I just might be here for the end.

Even though it’s still a knife, rhyme poetry helps to dull the blade. And that’s my job. You can write to Luke Easter at: lyricsfromlucas@aol.com
