Bill O'Reilly is Against Gun Owners' Rights

Constitutional Right to Bear Arms Subject to Weather? Pundit Bill O'Reilly Supports Gun Confiscation During Weather Emergencies‏.

Screenshot of man and woman having their guns confiscated in wake of Hurricane Katrina. This really happened in New Orleans, Louisiana.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Bill O'Reilly against the Constitution and the Second Amendment? Well, only under certain weather patterns. What a lame excuse.

During his interview with the founder of the Oathkeepers group, the pundit was quick to say he thinks that Americans need to hand their guns over any time their state government says so.

This happened during Hurricane Katrina, when people logically should have been able to keep their guns, to defend themselves.

Most people who own guns are law abiding citizens. My father owned guns all of his life, and he never broke any laws as long as he was alive. He had one ticket in the 1980's and he beat it. He would not have given his guns over to the state of California because bad weather was brewing, but FOX's O'Reilly sure thinks people like my dad should, and he's wrong.

For all of his ranting and raving about conservative values, the fact that O'Reilly supports gun confiscation during hurricanes shows he is a sham; a mean-spirited, money-driven robot.

He says the Oathkeepers' views on the Second Amendment are extreme. They say Americans shouldn't lose their Constitutional Rights simply because Mother Nature is exercising.

Q Madp of IraqWarHeroes.org who alerted me to this said, "Bill O’Reilly is just another Rosey O’Donnel. Has a private armed security guy but wants REAL Americans to lose their gun rights during an emergency."

This very conservative friend continued by saying, "I knew there was a reason I stopped watching and listening to him. It’s all about the money for this a**hole. Big Talk, but doesn’t believe in the Constitution. He isn’t the only one."

Contrary to what many people believe, most Americans support sane gun ownership, on the basic premise that you can never really remove all of the guns from a country, and for the most part only the legal registered ones can be tracked.

'Sane' gun ownership in my opinion, means having background checks, and supporting the belief that not all weapons should be available to own. It means not supporting gun show sales where background checks are fought tooth and nail by interest groups like the NRA.

But regardless of who you are, O'Reilly thinks your right to bear arms is subject to restriction imposed by state officials, when it is your Constitutional right to possess a weapon, as long as local laws don't already preclude them.

O'Reilly thinks that when it all comes down, and you are faced with having to defend yourself, your family, your home and friends, that is when you need to hand your guns over to the man. He supports that kind of thinking, which is incredible.

And for the record, this is not out of context.

Jimmy don't register your guns! There is nothing in the 2nd Amendment that requires this to be done, and as far as state and local laws requiring this registration, the Supreme Court is dissolving these unlawful non-Federal requirements. This spring another ruling should be coming down from the court stopping local politicians from restricting firearm ownership. Of course those with CHL's are ackowledged to own firearms, we still do not register them. FYI the so-called assault weapons ban that sunsetted several years ago has not seen any increase in crime with those semi-automatic firearms. Automatics have been illegal going back to the 1930's unless you have a special license. I had to go through many hoops to get mine, but very few people have them, and the bottom line is most the gungrabbers use false info coupled with fear tactics to gin up new laws. Criminals will always get guns, what we need our longer jail/prison sentences for felons in possession of guns. As we continue to keep these people out of society, crime goes down.

Stuff like this makes me nervous about being a legal gun owner with registered weapons. While they are coming to my house and try to take my guns, the "criminals" down the street with illegal weapons can just sit and watch.
