Dec-14-2011 18:48TweetFollow @OregonNews The Most Important Photo Series in HistoryIntroduction by Tim King Salem-News.comThe story of a blue Locknar?
(SALEM) - My good friend William Coleman, an avid Civil Rights activist and law enforcement community whistleblower, told me I would find value in the following set of images, but I never could have anticipated the impact or predicted just how powerful these otherwise innocent photographs could be. That is life in a way; you never really can guess from the wrapping on a package what is inside, nor can we determine how interesting a book may be simply by looking at the cover. It is by this same system that we know all people, regardless of their skin color, faith, culture or nationality, can not easily be judged simply by a cursory exterior glance. As the 'Locknar' in the cult rock animation film Heavy Metal was a magic green lighted stone that passed from person to person causing grief, distress and death, this is a story about a blue object that greatly affects and impacts the people who touch it, but in a positive way. Tragedy is not discretionary, it strikes randomly and without consideration of the things we seem to find important. Symbolic gestures of appreciation, random acts of kindness; these are capabilities we all have and the difference they can make is also gravely misunderstood. Now is the time to lay down our differences in America and pull together, it is the only possible answer to our problems. Our common hopes and dreams are greatly underplayed in my opinion, and there is hope, a great deal of hope, never forget that. Please share this story with your friends.
