Many food parcel recipients quickly open the jar of jam inside the cardboard box and scoop the confections into the mouths of their children or the nearby infirm refugees, usually elderly.

(YARMOUK Palestinian camp, Damascus) - It’s been seven days since the first humanitarian aid, generally in the form of 56 lb. food parcels packed by UNWRA, entered Yarmouk.

This follows half a dozen aborted attempts by various militia and political groups to achieve consensus to deliver aid.

(PORTLAND, OR) - Despite the tough winter weather conditions, the Red Cross remains open at main donor center locations in Portland, Salem and Vancouver. The Red Cross is asking donors to put their safety first, follow preparedness recommendations - and if able - to make their way to a donation location nearest to their home or workplace.

"Our donor centers will continue to operate because the need for blood does not go away with bad weather conditions," said Daphne Mathew, communications director for the Pacific Northwest Blood Services Region.

Woodburn Man Stabbed, Later Dies at Hospital

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Woodburn Police Department at 503-982-2345.

(WOODBURN) - Woodburn police officers, along with the Marion County Homicide Assault Response Team (H.A.R.T.), are investigating a stabbing that happened near the intersection of Brown and Bradley streets in Woodburn.

Woodburn officers arrived at the scene on Feb. 6 at 10:13 p.m. and found an adult male who had been stabbed. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

Death Investigation - Man Dies After Jump From Building on Oregon State University Campus

"The death appears to not be suspicious and was the result of an intentional act," OSP Lieutenant Steve Mitchell stated in a news release.

(CORVALLIS, OR) - Oregon State Police (OSP) are continuing the investigation into the death of an adult male found early Thursday morning on the Oregon State University (OSU) campus after he fell from a building located on the south side of the campus.

Salem PD SWAT Team Arrests Man in Stolen Motorcycle Case

At least one person was taken into custody.

(SALEM) - The Salem Police SWAT team served a search warrant Wednesday evening at a residence in the 2000 block of Trade Street SE as the result of an investigation concerning a suspected stolen motorcycle.

At about 5:30 PM, the SWAT team and several other police vehicles arrived on the scene. The police action closed the street and gave citizens much to be concerned about. 49-year old Anthony Salmons was taken into custody.

Sheriff's Office responds to fatal shooting, seeks tips from public, adds photos of suspect's Mercedes Benz.

(CLACKAMAS) - On Thursday, Feb. 6 at 10:48 a.m., Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a reported shooting on Hwy. 224 near Amsigger Road outside of Barton.

The shooting is considered a homicide, and suspect Dirck Morgan White -- 41, of Edgefield, WA -- is still at large and considered armed and dangerous.
