(CORVALLIS, OR) - Oregon State Police (OSP) are continuing the investigation into the death of an adult male found early Thursday morning on the Oregon State University (OSU) campus after he fell from a building located on the south side of the campus. The initial investigation indicates the man was a student. "The death appears to not be suspicious and was the result of an intentional act," OSP Lieutenant Steve Mitchell stated in a news release. "On February 6, 2014 at approximately 3:40 a.m. a contract janitorial employee located an unresponsive male on the west side of Bloss Hall on the south side of the OSU campus. OSP troopers responded and found a deceased 20-year old man from Corvallis lying in the parking lot west of Bloss Hall." Mitchell says evidence at the scene indicates the man jumped from near the top of Bloss Hall and died from his injuries. OSP was assisted at the scene by Benton County Medical Examiner, OSU Department of Public Safety and Corvallis Fire Department. Source: Oregon State Police

Sad in San Diego February 8, 2014 2:24 pm (Pacific time)
My son told me of this news. He went to school with this young man, played soccer with him throughout middle school and high school, and played lacrosse with him in high school in San Diego. He was just here visiting for Christmas. Needless to say, we were shocked at the news.
He was a kind, intelligent, funny, creative, and very nice boy and young man who always seemed to be in good spirits. We are so sad for his parents and his brother.
My son is finding it hard to grasp that his friend killed himself. It is shocking to think someone with so much life ahead of him could do such a thing. Our hearts go out to his family and all the friends.
Very sad story.
