Brutal Cold Waves Could be Heading for the U.S.

Folks may want to check their supply of fuel for the second half of the winter sooner rather than later, in the event the waves of arctic air develop to their full potential.

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - Cold Weather AccuWeather reports beginning near or just past the middle of the month, signs are pointing toward waves of frigid air moving southward across North America from the North Pole.

Much of the nation has been experiencing higher-than-average temperatures and lower heating bills so far during the cold weather season, with the exception of some bouts the past couple of weeks.

Torrential rain has also fallen in parts of Oregon and Washington...

Northern California Soaking Rain From a Barrage of Storms

It appears that a break from the storms will arrive early next week, allowing for the return of dry weather.

The first storm will arrive on Wednesday with breezy conditions and a brief round of rain. The rain may be enough to slow ground travel and delay flights for cities such as San Francisco and Sacramento.

Sandy Leaves its Ugly Mark

Manpower is needed to search for victims and to provide for food and shelter for those left homeless.

(SOMERDALE, NJ) - Taxi cabs in Hoboken, New Jersey We’re okay. Power never went out. The damage in New Jersey and New York is severe, especially along the coastline.

We’re a good 40 miles west of the coast. Whole communities on and near the coast are destroyed. Railroad cars were washed-up on the NJ turnpike.

Rescue of HMS Bounty Survivors During Hurricane Sandy

The vessel is reportedly sunk, but the mast is still visible.

(PORTSMOUTH, VA) - Rescue of HMS Bounty survivors The Coast Guard rescued 14 people from life rafts in the Atlantic Ocean approximately 90 miles southeast of Hatteras N.C., Monday.

Sadly, two remain missing.
