Six Ducks to Play Summer Ball in Wood Bat Leagues

Left-handed pitcher Garrett Cleavinger is playing for the Falmouth Commodores in the Cape for the second straight season.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Six players from Oregon’s 2014 baseball team who are expected to be a part of next year’s team are competing in summer wooden back leagues around the country this summer.

Three of those Ducks are playing in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League and one each are playing in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, California Collegiate League and the West Coast League.

Univ. of Oregon Male Students See Grades Dip During Winning Streaks

These gaps coincided with acknowledged student behaviors. Following a win, men reported drinking and partying more, studying less and missing more classes than when the team loses.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - Graph overview of sports achievement and grade loss. College football bowl season is in prime time, and a new report card is in: Male grades drop relative to female grades when their college football team performs well during the regular season.

The study looked at students' grade data at the University of Oregon from 1999 through 2007, covering nine seasons when the football program was rising but inconsistent.

University of Oregon scientists have found that doing those deeds can give you the same sort of satisfaction you derive from feeding your own hunger pangs.

Researchers found that two evolutionarily ancient regions deep in the brain – the caudate nucleus and the nucleus accumbens – fired when subjects saw the charity get the money.

University of Oregon Business Complex Closed after Bomb Threat

The business complex will reopen at 7:00 AM on Tuesday.

(EUGENE) - police lights photo The University of Oregon has canceled all of Monday’s classes and activities in the Lillis Business Complex after receiving a bomb threat Saturday.

On Saturday, a student reported finding a note written on a bathroom wall that said an explosive device would be detonated Monday.

Eugene police searched the building, and no device was found.
