Ducks Picked to Finish 5th in Pac-12 Volleyball

Oregon finished the season ranked 24th by the AVCA after exiting the NCAA tournament in the second round.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Oregon Ducks Volleyball The Oregon volleyball team was selected fifth in the Pac-12 preseason coaches’ poll, Wednesday, while senior outside hitter Liz Brenner was named to the preseason all-conference team.

The Ducks are coming off a fourth-place conference finish in 2013 with a 12-8 mark in conference and 20-12 overall.

Ducks Lacrosse Announces Fall Camp

Campers will be divided into groups based on skill level.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Oregon Ducks Lacrosse Oregon Lacrosse’s 2014 Fall Camp will take place on August 23 at Marymoor Park in Redmond, Wash., head coach Jen Beck announced this week.

Girls entering grades 6-12 are eligible for the camp, which will be instructed by the Ducks’ coaching staff and student-athletes.

Oregon`s Brennan Finishes Seventh at World Juniors

There will only be one session of competition, Saturday, which starts at 2:30 p.m.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Christian Brennan Christian Brennan finished seventh among the best junior quarter-milers in the world at the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships, Friday, in front of 8,937 track and field faithful at Hayward Field.

Brennan, who advanced to the final with a clutch performance on Thursday, finished the 400 in 54.15.

Former Duck Haley Jacob Signs with Champion`s League Club

Jacob was part of Oregon’s run to the NCAA Championship match in 2012.

(BAKU, Azerbaijan) - Haley Jacob Former Oregon volleyball standout Haley Jacob signed a three-season contract with SuperLeague power Rabita Baku, which won the bronze medal at the 2013-14 CEV Champions League last season, the top competition for European volleyball clubs.

Jacob, 23, is in her second year as a professional, previously playing with TSV Dudingen of the Swiss League, helping the team to a fifth-place finish in the European Challenge Cup qualification, the highest in club history.

Oregon Softball Adds Georgia Transfer

Geri Ann Glasco, a first baseman, was also the No. 2 pitcher for the Bulldogs.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Geri Ann Glasco The Oregon softball program has signed transfer 1B/RHP Geri Ann Glasco, head coach Mike White announced on Thursday.

Glasco, a native of Watkinsville, Ga., played her freshman and sophomore seasons at Georgia and will have two years of eligibility left with the Ducks, starting immediately.

Oregon Quartet Makes Noise at World Juniors

The third day of the competition will begin, Thursday at 10:00 a.m.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - World Junior Track and Field Championships Incoming freshman Ariana Washington led a quartet of Oregon women competing at the IAAF World Junior Track and Field Championships, Wednesday, finishing seventh in the women’s 100.

Washington, who will be coming to Eugene from Long Beach Poly High School, recorded a time of 11.64 in the finals, after advancing second in her semifinal heat in 11.73.

Oregon Hosts World Junior Championships

Oregon freshmen Christian Brennan (400), Maggie Schmaedick (5,000) and Cole Walsh (pole vault) will each be competing, with Brennan representing the Canadian National Team.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Hayward Field The world’s best junior athletes will converge at Hayward Field this week for the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships, beginning Tuesday and ending on Sunday, and involved in the fray will be six current and future Ducks.

It will mark the first time in the event’s 14-year history that the world championships are contested on American soil.

Mariota, Ekpre-Olomu on Walter Camp Preseason Watch List

Ekpre-Olomu was a second-team all-American according to the WCFF last season.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Oregon Ducks Football The rollout of preseason award watch lists concluded Friday with UO quarterback Marcus Mariota and cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu each adding to already impressive lists of accolades.

Mariota and Ekpre-Olomu, each of whom returned to school despite being considered top NFL draft prospects, were named Friday to the watch list for the Walter Camp Football Foundation’s player of the year award.
