Second OSP Patrol Car Struck in One Day While Trooper Investigating Traffic Crash - Interstate 84 Near Multnomah Falls

(SALEM, Oregon) - A driver was cited by Oregon State Police (OSP) Monday night after she drifted across the fog line and sideswiped an unoccupied OSP patrol car on Interstate 84 near Multnomah Falls. This was the second OSP patrol car to be struck that day while the trooper was outside of the patrol car investigating another collision during icy conditions.

Marion County Traffic Safety Team Announces Cell Phone Operation

* RESULTS OF OPERATION *

(SALEM, Ore.) - Marion County Traffic Safety Team Deputies issued 39 citations for violation of the Oregon cell phone law during the focused cell phone operation on Friday afternoon. Most of the citations were issued in the area of Lancaster Drive NE and Highway 22.

In addition to the cell phone citations, they also issued 2 citations for speed racing, 6 for driving without a seatbelt, 3 for driving without insurance. Additionally, 3 drivers were issued warnings.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - A train owned by Portland and Western Railroad struck a tractor trailer truck that had become stuck on railroad tracks near Wilsonville this morning. No-one was injured.

According to OSP Senior Trooper Jason Lindland, on November 19, 2010 at approximately 8:00 a.m. a 2010 Ford F250 pickup driven by Fidel Montes Hernandez, age 23, from Mt. Angel, was traveling eastbound on Highway 211 near milepost 25 rounding a curve when he lost control on black ice. The pickup rolled and came to rest on its side.
