East Bound Lanes of Hwy 22W Near Rosemont Exit in Salem Closed Due to Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision

The eastbound lanes of Hwy 22W were re-opened at 11:15 p.m.

(SALEM) - Traffic during pedestrian crash in Salem, Oregon At 8;41 P.M., officers of the Salem Police Department responded to Hwy 22W near the Rosemont Exit on a report of a male running in traffic attempting to get struck by passing motorists.

Lieutenant Keith A. Blair with the Salem Police Department's Patrol Division, says additional reports indicated that citizens were attempting to subdue the male to prevent him from continuing his actions.

ODOT Issues Notice of Default to Design Builder on US 20

The Pioneer Mountain to Eddyville Project has been stalled since 2010

(CORVALLIS, OR.) - road signs The Pioneer Mountain/Eddyville Project is creating a straighter 5.5 mile segment of U.S. 20 between Corvallis and Newport to replace the narrow, twisting 10 mile segment.

The Oregon Department of Transportation is issuing Notice of Default to Yaquina River Constructors (Granite Construction Company). They have 10 days to correct the default to ODOT’s satisfaction.

Salem Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Crash

The area of the crash is a rural type two-lane road, with a 45 mph speed limit.

(SALEM) - Fatal pedestrian crash, Salem, Oregon, 2-29-12 At 6:49 pm, Salem Police responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic crash on River Rd. S. near Cricket St S.

The deceased pedestrian has been identified as 43-year old Timothy James Crone, who appears to be transient. Next of kin notification have been made of the incident, Salem Police Lt. Jim Anglemier said.

Two Die from Crash into Tow Truck on Highway 211

The crash left the highway blocked at milepost 7.5, between Kropf Road and Barlow Rd., east of Woodburn.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Fatal crash in Oregon 2-5-12 Oregon State Police responded to a fatal traffic crash Sunday evening on Highway 211 near S. Kropf Road. This is the highway connecting Molalla and Woodburn.

Senior Trooper Duane Larson with Oregon State Police, told Salem-News.com, "It was a two-vehicle crash, two vehicles involved, one vehicle sustained two fatalities."

Senators Seek State Control of Federal Railroad Grant Lands

The bill, Senate Joint Memorial 201, must pass both the House and the Senate before going to the governor.

(SALEM ONS) - Oregon Capitol Two legislators want to bring control of federal railroad lands back into the hands of the state with a new bill proposed for February’s session.

State Senators Fred Girod, R-Lyons, and Jason Atkinson, R-Central Point, have proposed a bill requesting that the federal government give “full management authority” of the Oregon and California Railroad grant lands to the state government.
