Alcohol, Excessive Speed Contributed to Fatal Crash

Police were on the scene almost immediately.

(SALEM, Ore.) - fatal crash Just after midnight Friday morning two Salem Police officers were typing reports in the 4500 block of Liberty Rd S when they heard squealing tires followed by a crash.

They went to investigate and discovered that a silver colored 2002 GMC Yukon that had been eastbound on Skyline Rd S failed to negotiate the turn at Liberty Rd and crashed into a power pole killing 22-year old Corey Engleman.

Man Killed Monday In Highway 22 Crash East Of Salem

One person was taken Stayton Hospital, and another to OHSU via Air Ambulance.

(STAYTON, Ore.) - Salem-News.com About 5:50 a.m. Monday, OSP received the report of an eastbound vehicle which could not stay within it's lane of travel on Highway 22 near milepost 19. The caller reported the vehicle was crossing over the centerline and the back into it's lane of travel.

Minutes later, OSP received another call that the vehicle of concern had been involved in a head-on crash on Highway 22 near milepost 20 (just west of Lyons).

Speed Racing Suspected as Cause of Crash That Killed McMinnville Man

Excessive Speed is a factor in ONE of THREE all fatal crashes.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Mcminnville fatal crash Upon initial investigation, they discovered that a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer was traveling northbound on Highway 99W when it apparently lost control and spun across the paved center median and struck a southbound 2004 Honda Odyssey van nearly head-on, according to authorities.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, 24-year old Jeromy Hopper, of McMinnville, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

McMinnville Man Loses Life In Highway 18 Crash

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - hwy 18 fatal crash On April 22, 2016 at about 4:35AM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a three vehicle crash on Highway 18 near milepost 49 (one mile east of McMinnville).

A 2003 Dodge Durango was westbound on Highway 18 when it crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Astro van head-on. The Dodge then struck a 2005 Honda Civic which had been following the Chevrolet.

Salem Police Investigating Tuesday`s Fatal Traffic Crash

Sunnyside Road was closed for nearly four hours for the crash investigation.

(SALEM, Ore.) - sunnyside fatal The Salem Police Traffic Control Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred Tuesday morning in south Salem.

Arriving officers found two vehicles sitting in the roadway with the drivers of both vehicles trapped inside. Fire units were on scene and called for further resources to extricate the drivers from the vehicles.

RADAR Speed Sign Erected on River Rd

This should help slow drivers as they enter the city.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - radar speed sign In June 2013 the City of Keizer purchased two RADAR speed signs which were installed to increase speed awareness. One sign was erected just north of the Salem Parkway on Verda Ln NE and the other was placed just west of McLeod Ln NE on Lockhaven Dr NE.

These driver feedback signs are powered by solar energy and can be placed anywhere there is ample sunlight.

Two Injured and One Killed in Semi Crashes on Interstate 84 near Farewell Bend

I-84 was closed for 4 hours westbound and 9 hours eastbound, due to multiple crashes.

(BAKER COUNTY, Ore.) - fatal crash I-84 Tuesday morning about 11:25, Oregon State Police Troopers (OSP) and emergency crews were dispatched to a roll over crash involving a commercial motor vehicle on Interstate 84, milepost 349 eastbound.

As emergency personnel were responding to the scene, a second crash involving two commercial motor vehicles, occurred at milepost 348 eastbound, killing a driver.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - weather The National Weather Service has announced a High Wind Watch is in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday evening for the greater Portland and Vancouver metro area, the Willamette Valley, Lower Columbia and I-5 Corridor in Cowlitz County.

South to Southwest winds are expected to be 30 to 40 mph, with gusts to 60 mph.

Fatal Crash Near Carlton Takes Three Lives

(CARLTON, Ore.) - traffic fatal Three people were killed and a 4-year-old child was critically injured in a crash on Highway 47 near Carlton early Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews responded to Milepost 37 at 4:30 a.m. According to investigators, a northbound 1992 Honda Accord driven by 24-year old Teven Ray Stone, of Sheridan, drifted across the centerline into the path of an oncoming 2008 GMC pickup early Tuesday morning.

Landslide Near Sea Lion Caves Closes Hwy 101

Travelers are advised to take alternate routes.

(FLORENCE, Ore.) - Oregon Hwy 101 U.S. 101 will be closed at milepost 178 Sunday night and into Monday following a landslide just north of Sea Lion Caves and south of the Cape Creek Tunnel, 11 miles north of Florence.

ODOT crews will be working through the night to clear the roadway, but cannot safely open to traffic until debris remaining on the hillside is cleared in daylight to ensure slope stability and safety for travelers.
