(FLORENCE, Ore.) - U.S. 101 will be closed at milepost 178 Sunday night and into Monday following a landslide just north of Sea Lion Caves and south of the Cape Creek Tunnel, 11 miles north of Florence. ODOT crews will be working through the night to clear the roadway, but cannot safely open to traffic until debris remaining on the hillside is cleared in daylight to ensure slope stability and safety for travelers. Expect that the road may be closed throughout Monday as well and check Tripcheck.com before attempting to travel through the area. _________________________________________
